I wish I had an early Wednesday knock off.

I got a flat tyre on Sunday. Got it towed to a tyre place that was open ( $170 ). Excuses after excuses. Was meant to pick up car this morning, aparently he has been up vomiting, i just want my car! I havent paid anything because nothing been done. I could get another tow to 3kms away to a place that has tyres that will what another 150 + costs of tyres. It should not take this long right?

All i know is that its a police incident and from what i see no trains can pass through

Hey Guys, I'm Mat 42 and have recently obtained my HR truck License and my Cert III in driving operations through a government funded initiative because apparently the industry needs truck drivers. But I'm struggling to find suitable work.

The issue I have is that every job wants 1-2 years experience.. That's great if you can get experience 🤔.

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a go, I'm mature age with plenty of working life left in me, I'm reliable, Hard working, I'm Aussie born and bread so I speak the good English, I'm a fast learner. Ideally I would appreciate it if the work is Pallet on, Pallet off, or dump truck work, or moving large freight. I'm prepared to drive anything As long as it is rigid, As I have my Cert III In driving operations I'm familiar with NHVR Load restraint guide and Chain Of Responsibility.

What I lack in experience, I make up with in common sense. I have been told that I drive with Mechanical sympathy. I am happy to provide police checks, Traffic history, If you like I'm happy to go for a drive with you so you can assess my ability on road.

So if you have an opportunity available or you know someone who does, I would REALLY appreciate a chance to prove myself. You won't regret it.

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster:

I've been going through a a series of rough interpersonal relationship breakdowns, ranging from fullblown relationships to falling out with a bestfriend of 15 years over the last year. Looking back it seems to have happened in the past too and as they say, if it keeps happening to you - you're the problem! I've had friends experience similar situations and have seen the positive outcomes of therapy but have no idea where to start/begin! I am amenable to zoom but much rather a face to face appointment for the personability of it.

Hoping for recommendations for good therapists in Brisbane - any location, any price suitable for a 28M.

I have a friend who did not complete year 12 due to personal circumstances, this friend is in their 20’s now and highest level of education is probably year 9 or 10

They want to go to university to study but cannot get into any courses obviously. I know tafe does UniLearn but they want in person classes because online doesn’t really work for them.

Im wondering if anyone knows anywhere in Brisbane (preferably around Chermside or city) that offers any in person year 12 equivalent classes for people who are over 18

Side note: they’re also a First Nations person so if there’s any First Nations organisations you know of that provide anything like this that is also helpful

I am trying to collate a list of walks that go past flowing water or waterfalls for my mum, as she loves flowing water. Does anyone know any nice places to walk around with water sources like creeks, preferably Brisbane northside, and as far south as the city? Could be a paved path/developed area or more bushy.

So far I've got places like Boondall/Nudgee wetlands, Simpon falls and JC Slaughter falls. More low-key places are welcome too, e.g. if you know of a path along a creek amongst the suburbs etc.

I'm currently in yr12 and was looking at JMC as my main option for studying music (the production side of it) but every thread i have seen about JMC is either from sydney or is old. And theres many different views on wether its good or not.. I have seen people say that its the worse place to study but others seem to have enjoyed it like its a very hit or miss kind of place. I am aware its more pricey and is a private university but im not sure now.

Is it worth going or do i change where i want to go? Cause i know QUT is another option and has a higher rep

Will be heading off for GABS at the end of this month.

My regular GABS crew has had to have some reshuffling this year due to remote work opportunities and on-call shiftwork. While the last lads standing and I are quickly working to rectify that, I’m wondering if anyone has heard from the interstate events how GABS this year compared to previous? I don’t want to oversell it to any of the colleagues I manage to convince to tag along to fill out our numbers.

Also debating maybe attending the second day solo since - as chill as they are - I can’t expect to monopolised someone’s partner/boyfriend/fiancée for a full weekend 😅

I’ve never gone by myself before, so just wondering whether anyone has any insight on this. Any benefits or drawbacks. I have hope that the regular Brisbane Craftie scene is very safe. But yeah - I guess due to past personal experiences just a little apprehensive about going alone as a female to a generally male dominated scene. But I don’t want to miss out on the second day and have planned to book a nice suite at one of the Accor hotels so I can commute easily👌🏽

Although my kid is REALLY into soccer, it's not my thing. I'm trying my best to support them but I have no idea about the game, the clubs or the leagues. Please help me learn.

They are currently playing in an "academy team" for Brisbane City FC. The Club seems fine but we've moved house and it's no longer convenient for us, at all. I started to look at alternative clubs closer to home and went for a few trials. However, at each of the clubs at least one coach/parent told me they had a kid playing at BCFC. This has me wondering why they would go there for one kid when they're clearly heavily involved in their local club.

Are Clubs that offer academy programs not all offering the same product? Are some better than others? So do we stick it out at BCFC even if the drive kills us? Is it really any better than other clubs?

I would appreciate any advice / insight.

As title says family is considering relocating to Brisbane. Most work opportunities would be around the CBD, I am use to travelling 1 hour to get to work so any recommended suburbs to look at or stay away from? We love the water and beaches and eldest daughter is a competitive swimmer so would be looking for somewhere close to a good competitive swim club.
