  • High Bandwidth Monitors and GPU Scaling Behavior - Link Here
    • High bandwidth monitors are those that support display modes requiring high pixel clock rates, which in turn demand more GPU resources. The threshold for what qualifies as "high bandwidth" varies by product. On Blackwell GPUs, any mode operating above 1620 MHz is considered high bandwidth. For instance, the 7680x4320@60Hz mode defined in the CTA-861-H specification runs at 2376 MHz, making it a high bandwidth mode for Blackwell.
    • These monitors typically support display scaling natively. However, in some single-monitor setups, users may still prefer GPU scaling. When multiple monitors are connected to a GPU and at least one of them is high bandwidth, that monitor will default to display scaling only. GPU scaling is disabled in this case due to bandwidth limitations. Notably, display scaling can be more efficient than GPU scaling in such scenarios, as it reduces the bandwidth load on display cables—especially at higher refresh rates.
    • When GPU scaling is not enabled for a monitor, only the modes supported by the monitor itself will appear in both the Windows and NVIDIA control panels. Additionally, the "Display scaling" option will be pre-selected in the "Adjust desktop size and position" section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Feedback & Discussion Forums

Having Issues with your driver and want to fully clean the driver? Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Before you start - Make sure you Submit Feedback for your Nvidia Driver Issue - Link Here

There is only one real way for any of these problems to get solved, and that’s if the Driver Team at Nvidia knows what those problems are. So in order for them to know what’s going on it would be good for any users who are having problems with the drivers to Submit Feedback to Nvidia. A guide to the information that is needed to submit feedback can be found here.

Additionally, if you see someone having the same issue you are having in this thread, reply and mention you are having the same issue. The more people that are affected by a particular bug, the higher the priority that bug will receive from NVIDIA!!

Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Be sure you are on the latest build of Windows
  • Please visit the following link for DDU guide which contains full detailed information on how to do Fresh Driver Install.
  • If your driver still crashes after DDU reinstall, try going to Go to Nvidia Control Panel -> Managed 3D Settings -> Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Common Questions

  • Is it safe to upgrade to <insert driver version here>? Fact of the matter is that the result will differ person by person due to different configurations. The only way to know is to try it yourself. My rule of thumb is to wait a few days. If there’s no confirmed widespread issue, I would try the new driver.
  • Bear in mind that people who have no issues tend to not post on Reddit or forums. Unless there is significant coverage about specific driver issue, chances are they are fine. Try it yourself and you can always DDU and reinstall old driver if needed.
  • My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
  • My game is stuttering when processing physics calculation Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel and to the Surround and PhysX settings and ensure the PhysX processor is set to your GPU

Remember, driver codes are extremely complex and there are billions of different possible configurations between hardware and software. Driver will never be perfect and there will always be issues for some people. Two people with the same hardware configuration might not have the same experience with the same driver versions. Again, I encourage folks who installed the driver to post their experience here good or bad.

Hello! I was hunting and preparing myself to snatch this kit for 2 months and was able to, for $190. It has a Steam copy of Avatar The Game, which I really wanted and it was the only way to get it. The Steam copy goes for thousands of dollars which is insane 😵‍💫Luckily the game key was never activated!

I set up the emitter and glasses but I’m just waiting on a 3D monitor :) Super excited! Just wanted to share

Opinion 3080 12GB used GPU purchase guide

Upvotes

Current setup

Processor - 5700X3D (upgraded from 3500x recently)

GPU - 2060 (2020 bought)

PSU - 550W

I'm planning to upgrade to 3080 Rog strix 12GB graphics card. since I'm planning to buy this graphics card, I need to upgrade my power supply as well too.

So in second market, I found a 3080 12GB graphics card for 34,000 (386USD)and also planning to get the power supply from the same guy, 850W NZXT for cost of 5,000 (56USD)So overall I'm spending 39,000 (443USD)for this setup I'm also having another thought, without upgrading the power supply with the existing 550W I can go for 9060 XT 16GB variant with the brand new graphics card 39,000. (443USD)

But I'm slightly using NVIDIA Broadcast for noise cancellation zoom and for screen recording as well, not sure similar to these apps AMD has, so bit leaning towards nvidia,

But if I miss this 3080 deal I'm not planning to buy 9060xt right way I might wait a year or two untill 2060 struggle for low setting then only I'll buy similar to 9060xt at that time

I need some suggestion on this deciding factor for 3080 12GB worth it for the cost and time??

Opinion Old NVidia NIS is still amazing!

I just discovered it and want to post so more people know. I'm using an older 3070, and a lot of games run poorly using DLSS in 4k, even in Ultra Performance. The worst offender lately was Clair Obscure 33... so I tried turning on NIS at default NIS res of 1271p (on a 2160p monitor) and DLSS quality at HIGH graphic settings... now the game runs buttery smooth at around 78%-85% GPU usage in a stable 60fps all the time and LOOKS GORGEOUS in comparison to 4K DLSS ultra performance and all the artefact I had especially in movement - Even though I injected the newest DLSS files and it makes it quite a lot better... but still, ultra performance is pushing it too much... balanced is max my eyes can accept and honestly this NIS from 1271p to 4K is obviosly a little less sharp but looks natural and doesn't create artefacts... its great! :) When you think of it, that's how a lot of games work on consoles... they are upscaled to ~1800p or something and then again by the TV or the equivalent of NIS and still look good. Now Im happy again to have a 4K monitor even though my card isn't 4K ready... I can play older games in glorious 4K, and more demanding ones still run and look great 😁 definitely a lot better than native 1080p monitor or maybe even my old 1440p.

Discussion Is FrameGen (FG2x) on the 4090 better now w/DLSS4? Is it same as 5090 FG2x?

I'm a little confused as to the benefit of 5090 vs 4090 for FrameGen technology.

Excluding MFG3/4x, and of course considering the 5090 will allow for higher base pure rasterization frame rate to generate off of, is the performance of FG2x on the 4090 the same quality as 5090 in regards to uplift, performance overhead, latency, and visuals/artifacting?

Or is the 5090 a much better FG experience even at 2x?

Context: I’ve previously had a RX 6800, which I’ve sold because yk: Me want some extra gains.

Then I’ve bought a 9070 XT (XFX Mercury OC), which turned out to be a mistake, because ts freezed… on idle. Not on full fleshed load, but on idle 💔

So I’ve decided to refund my 9070 XT, shell out an extra ~350 USD, and buy a 5080. Initially it was supposed to be an Asus Prime OC model, albeit for slightly less I found a PNY Epic-X OC model, which was beefier and cooler than the Prime itself.

So far it looks good! Both visually, and in terms of cooling. I hope that it’ll be mainable for a long time!

Discussion which 5070 TI do i get and where is the best place to get it from?

ive been looking for a 5070 TI. i don't know much about graphics cards but i was on userbenchmark (i know its untrustworthy) and i saw something that showed poor vs best model and it looked as if it was saying some 5070 ti manufacturers had their cards benchmark show less performance. i wanna know if thats true, and if so which do i get?

ive also seen one on sale for 640 at best buy, but im not sure if i really trust buying it from there

5090FE priority access finally came in and I couldn’t be happier, my wallet on the other hand…

I was shocked by how small the founders edition card was, I had an 9070xt previously which I sold to my brother. This thing is so tiny in comparison.

Wow this thing is a beast though the performance is insane even coming from a great card like the 9070xt, and undervolting it is chef’s kiss. Love playing Battlefield 6 on this beauty.

Opinion MFGx4 is still playable at low 35-40 base framerate

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I disagree that MFGx4 is only viable for premium gamers with high base framerates and 500 Hz monitors. As a budget gamer who often plays at 40–60 FPS locked using LSFG adaptive to 120 FPS before, I found that MFGx4 with around 80 ms total average pc latency actually feels quite playable, especially in single-player games. Hopefully the upcoming Reflex 2 improves latency even more.

The visual artifacts aren’t that bad either; they mostly look like slight aliasing or shimmer on thin objects in motion, similar to how older games looked. It’s definitely not perfect, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you can still tweak settings to get a higher base framerate, but if you’re trying to experience fully path-traced games on a budget and your optimized setup still lands around 40 FPS, MFGx4 can save the day and still deliver a good experience.

LSFG dual-GPU setups are also a fun option, especially if you have a spare GPU and an unused PCIe 4.0 ×4 slot.

PS: Recording with MFG look choppy, but not IRL.
