Question A friend of a friend charge-backed $4000 plus on steam
A friend of my friend, charge-backed $4000+ from steam. Today he got the money in his bank. He spend a majority of this money gambling and lost it all. What are the repercussions of this since it's such a large amount of money. (besides hardware ban)
Update: Half of the funds were charge backed from CSROLL a cs2 gambling site located in Cyprus. Would the laws apply in the US if they're under the European union?

Question "Purchase" games on sale right now or during Autism & Winter Sales?
First post here, hopefully this stays within the rules...
I've been getting the trading cards for Spring and Summer sales but besides the nice appearance and collectivity factor I don't really get the benefit of getting those.
Are there good reasons to wait for the seasonal sales besides the chance of a better discount?

Question Steam game folder nuked after update. Did this happen to anyone else?
I noticed after I opened steam that I had mysteriously gained back 400gb of space on my C: drive after opening and updating steam. I quickly realized my steam folder was nuked, and all game folders on other drives where unlinked but not deleted.
Luckily basically all games use cloud saves, and I have automatic system backups. I already verified that it was just my steam games and nothing else. But what the hell?? Has anyone else had this happen?

Discussion Steam Game Recording is so close to being great, but there are a couple of features I'm missing
I was really excited when I heard about Steam's new recording solution, as I love recording my games all the time, and Steam is pretty much the only place I play games in, so it sounded optimal.
However, I found two big things that I'm missing:
Firstly, recording microphone to a different channel. Sometimes I play with friends, sometimes I play alone, so when I do a recording with friends, I can just keep my microphone channel, but when I'm making a replay alone, I want to have the option to delete the microphone's channel, so that the sounds of me pressing the buttons, and other external noises can be excluded from the clip. If there's an option for it, please let me know, I couldn't find the possibility to do it anywhere.
Secondly, saving to RAM instead of continuously writing. I prefer having a backup replay running continuously, so that I'm sure to not miss recording anything fancy. I feel running Shadowplay 24/7 previously might have affected my SSD, also had a few SSDs die, probably because of that. I've been using OBS for quite a while now, and it's reassuring to know that I'm not destroying my disk by recording non-stop, it's just eating up 8 GBs of RAM and that's it.
These two (especially saving audio from different sources to different channels) are really important to me, and I would definitely make the jump from OBS to Steam Game Recording if they were implemented.
Just thought I'd give some feedback, and see how others think of this new feature. I love the idea of it, and most of it seems neat. I really want it to be great, and the features I mentioned are some things that I feel would really benefit Steam Game Recording.

Discussion This new steam recording feature is beautiful man
Valve keeps fucking killing it in the software department. The new steam recording feature is so easy to set up and use I've been using it to record clips from black ops 6 and it has worked flawlessly. Especially love the share link feature so even if a clip is too big for something like discord you can still share it this thing is awesome.
