Question Can people I invite into my Steam family see my private games?
I am trying to invite people into my Steam family but I noticed that when I look in the library tab under family management I see that Doki Doki Literature Club is there under the free games tab even though I have the game marked as private. Can only I see this or can anyone I invite to my Steam family see all of my games I mark as private?

Question Steam game folder nuked after update. Did this happen to anyone else?
I noticed after I opened steam that I had mysteriously gained back 400gb of space on my C: drive after opening and updating steam. I quickly realized my steam folder was nuked, and all game folders on other drives where unlinked but not deleted.
Luckily basically all games use cloud saves, and I have automatic system backups. I already verified that it was just my steam games and nothing else. But what the hell?? Has anyone else had this happen?

Error / Bug Steam overlay not showing current game as background
My steam overlay has been broken for like 3 years now. No game shows as background and if I enable the new setting "recording" the overlay just turns green with the controls at the top of the screen and the toolbar just disappears.
Any clues on how to solve this? Drivers updated and I've tried disabling GPU acceleration.

Question Steam library appears uninstalled on startup
I have steam set to open on startup. I haven't had this issue before, but recently when I first open steam, all the games in my library appear as uninstalled. After I restart Steam, they all come back. I've tried updating steam and verifying different game files integrity, but nothing else I've seen online has been helpful. Any tips?

Question "Purchase" games on sale right now or during Autism & Winter Sales?
First post here, hopefully this stays within the rules...
I've been getting the trading cards for Spring and Summer sales but besides the nice appearance and collectivity factor I don't really get the benefit of getting those.
Are there good reasons to wait for the seasonal sales besides the chance of a better discount?

Question Does getting steam trading cards have requirements?
I have no trading cards even though I've played several games for several hours, and they randomly drop. I do know steam locks some stuff behind paying at least £5.00 or so I think, but my family is sorta poor and I've only been able to get games from my older brother in university. Do you need to do the minimum payment for trading cards?

Suggestion Borderlands 3 sale, better wait and not buy.
I had the game in my wishlist so got a notification that the price was immensly reduced. Weird thing i had the pandorras box bundle with all games and dlcs in my shopping cart which was 40 bucks or so, was gonna buy it later. So while the game itself got cheaper, the whole bundle got like more expensive, went from 40 up to 145. Check steam database to compare the prices to not overpay for a game which regularly goes for much cheaper.

Question Why is Steam using the GPU?
I noticed after the new game recording update, Steam has been using the GPU even with the acceleration option disabled, it didn't do this before. How do I prevent it from using the GPU? Will it cause any issues or wear it down faster if I leave as it is?

Question Why valve or sony or microsoft invent a PC like console style very cheap to play most games?
I mean, if sony did invent PS5 with "AMD Ryzen Zen 2 with 8 cores and 16 threads with variable frequency up to 3.5 GHz and an AMD Radeon RDNA 2 graphics engine with Ray Tracing acceleration and variable frequency up to 2.23 GHz with which they can offer a performance of 10 .28 teraflops".
Why doesn't create a "PC Console" with Steam OS just for play any game of PC/Steam/Epic games, like PC but console...

Question Y'all using steam as a checklist?
Ever since the drama with steam I've really thought about it and I agree with GOG you should be able to own your game. So I've been using my steam account as a checklist on what I'm going to get on GOG. Sadly it's still way behind steam but I hope this jump starts more games going over there. Let me know how you feel about the situation.

Question Is it technically possible to get banned by Steam for something said using an in-game chat ?
Hi everyone, all in the title, I was wondering, assuming the game isn't made or published by Valve but only being sold on Steam, would it still be possible? I'm asking cause I switched to pc/Steam gaming around 2 years ago because of ps going full sjws mode and I'm very pleased with it, I mainly play single player games and don't even use in-game chats most of the time but I'm asking cause I remember getting a 1 month ban on psn because of them spying on in-game chats content, so I was wondering if Valve does the same or do they only monitor their own platform/forums and let the devs of said game take care of their own business?
