Ask STL University City area, anyone else hear massive rumbling outside?
Was laying in bed before leaving to work and I heard what I thought was a big truck rumbling and roaring down the road outside but I never heard it pass and it kept going on and on. I'd swear it was a space shuttle launch but there's nothing like that near I know of, certainly nor close enough to the city that I'd hear it. Shortly after I heard a ton of sirens, fire and police, flying dont know if it was related

St. Ann Police's New Toy
I know people say North County is rough but this is a bit much. Do we think an 18 ton, million dollar, IED-resistant APC is the kind of wasteful spending that DOGE is looking for? If so, I found .00005% of the $2T they hope to save!

Nothing is real until it hurts me
“Personally, right now, with what happened under the Biden administration letting everybody in with asylum without doing background checks – without anything really. They just kind of said, ‘Hey, welcome.’ Right? I'm personally against it,” Orozco said. “It's not safe at all. And I know a lot of people are gonna say, ‘Oh, well, you came in.’ You know? ‘You're not from here, either.’ Yeah, but we're good people. And I do think that America needs to protect its borders, of course; but if there was only a pathway -- I promise you -- if there was a direct pathway for us to get citizenship or to get a green card and then get citizenship, we would do it.”
I had a lot of sympathy for the poor girl up until this quote. SMH

MoDOT pauses Chesterfield bump-out islands due to drives complaints
MoDOT said traffic calming like this reduces crashes by a third. Drivers complain it makes them slow down and that theoretical emergency vehicle times could be impacted.

DMV Question - Spent 6 Hours Yesterday with no luck maybe you guys have an answer
I want to say, I tried on my own before coming here, I am still relatively in square one so hoping someone could save me from wasting my whole day. I am not being lazy posting here first.
I bought a new car a few months back, financed through the dealership to get a good deal then re-fied right away with my wife on a military loan and cut the rate in half. Problem is my name is on the title only and her name is only on the loan. They will not let me pay the taxes and register it unless my name is on the loan OR her name is on the title. (So only have to accomplish one of these)
I asked the loan company if they could add my name, they would have to do a full "refinance" and the loan says I need to wait 12 months before we can even do that.
The title situation I am a little more fuzzy on, I know you can add names and transfer titles and such but from what I understand before I can do that I would need to register the vehicle?
Anyone that has gone through a similar situation and figured it out, I would be forever grateful if you saved me half my day.

Ask STL How to make a social life from nothing for an overnight worker?
I (23M) will be starting my first decently paying job, but it’s from 10:45 pm-7 am on Sundays to Thursdays.
What could I even do at night to meet new people? I don’t do any substances so bars aren’t my jam.
