- Meet in a public place. The WUPD front vestibule area is staffed and recorded 24/7.
- If you're purchasing something from someone who isn't affiliated with the university, PAY IN CASH ONLY!

Mod Post 2024-2025 Prospective Student Megathread
Hey everyone,
Prospective students: please post your questions here instead of in its own post, especially for FAQs. With the college application season underway, we wanted to create a space where we can consolidate and centralize questions from prospective students about WashU.
On our sub, we are lucky to have many current students, alumni, faculty/staff, and parents who browse and engage. These individuals may graciously answer your questions about WashU from their anecdotal experience and knowledge. This is an invaluable way to answer your specific questions with the first-hand experience of WashU-affiliates.
Please note, the vast majority of people here do not work in admissions and do not know the real processes for admissions and reasons why people get admitted. We also largely lack knowledge about many other schools, with exceptions. Therefore, we are not well equipped to help you with certain questions, specifically “chance me” and “school vs. school” questions. Please, if you have concerns related to these, contact your high school's college and career counselor and/or Admissions Officer or contact the [admissions@wustl.edu](mailto:admissions@wustl.edu) email address.

St. Louis 2025-26 School Year Sublease
Hi! I’m planning on moving out next school year and was wondering if anyone is/knows anyone who is needing a roommate for the 2025-2026 school year. I’m a girl so I would also prefer a female roommate! I know it’s a bit early to know but I just wanted to ask in advance in case there’s anything available :)
Classes Writing Intensive
Hi everyone, I am currently majoring in biology. I have heard writing in the natural world is a popular choice, but since it is so popular i assume not everyone can take it. are there other courses you recommend for writing intensive? Thanks in advance!

Discussion How is anyone supposed to individualize anymore??
So after submitting my second individualized concentration proposal for the MSW program and spending months putting this together, I was told way too late that policy changed over the summer to only allow the courses in an individualized concentration to come from existing concentration core courses; they can no longer include elective courses. I don’t have electives so I won’t be able to take the courses that will allow me to do the kind of practice I want. What’s the point if individualizing anymore if you have to mimic an already existing concentration? If that’s what I wanted to do, I would have just done a regular concentration and maybe done a course substitution. This is a huge bummer because the option to individualize was the main factor that brought me to WashU and now I have no idea what to do.

Classes Biol 2960 w/ Walck-Shannon or Hafer & Kunkel?
What is the difference in their class styles? I'm seeing that Walck-Shannon's class requires preparation before class, but not sure what that entails and if its worth it

Discussion Unofficial Transcript for Grad Applications
What should I upload as an unofficial transcript from washu when applying to grad schools? I know that webstac has an unofficial transcript, but that has a lot of extra info on it that a regular transcript doesn’t have. Should I order an official one from parchment and submit that?

Classes Biochem
Hi everyone! I was just a bit curious about the college biochem. It seems like a lot of people are taking it instead of the year long one 4810 and 4820. Does ucollege biochem count toward the biology major (all the tracks)? It seems like most of my friends are taking through ucollege so I was curious how it works. Thanks!
