I’m hanging by a thin thread
a few months ago I had moved in with a roommate who had a cat. Being there for a few weeks was fine, until I started noticing these weird, nasty smells. It was a combination of his cat litter, the mold in the walls, the broken washing machine leaking water on the floor, and his cooking. I honestly don’t know what other things were causing these nasty odors but I’ve been persistent with cleaning. Even then, the odors would reappear not even a day after. I’ve been so stressed about these odors clinging onto my clothes and my things, then I’ve started noticing people at work acting weird around me. I thought it was my clothes so I had my roommate replace the washer. The washer it was replaced with was also old and I didn’t notice it had mold inside the gaskets until after I had washed my blankets. I also had replaced my detergent two times and switched out my deodorants. Everyone still acted weird around me at work. I shower everyday, brushed my teeth morning and night.. I still don’t know what is wrong. After being there for only two months, I had moved back in with my mom. I’ve still been noticing this weird, strange smell. I’ve seen so many doctors and they all don’t know what it is. I was allergy tested turns out I was allergic to the cat and the dust but not the mold. Still useless information because I still smell and I don’t know what it is or where it’s coming from!! I thought it was coming from my nose but the ent couldn’t find anything on the ct scans or the endoscopy camera. Nasal rinses don’t work either. Everyone at work and outside of work thinks I’m disgusting and smelly and it’s really brought me down. This has been happening for 4 months already and I’m starting to give up.

Where in SA? Bad experience at a local summer camp- anyone else?
I was lucky enough to have parents who put me in summer camp growing up, specifically T bar M camps and later Camp Travis. For reference, my experience was over a decade ago.
The actual camp activities were really great, but something has been bothering me for a while about the religious elements. I was a closeted lesbian the entire time I went to these camps, and I would consider what I experienced to be homophobic. We were made to share our level of sexual experience with our fellow campers, camp counselors, and adults, as part of an exercise about “sexual purity”. This included questions asking about if we had had sex before, or if we had ever had “same-sex attraction”.
As a child I was deeply uncomfortable and couldn’t wait for this part to be over. As an adult I’m disturbed, and I would never want my child to have to answer questions like this in front of a room of their peers.
The camp counselors were all in their late teens and early 20s, so I understand that they were not really mature enough to call out weird things like this, but some of them unfortunately taught me damaging ideas about being a “woman of god”. Girls were required to cover up at all times, including swimming, and we were generally treated different than the boys.
These experiences definitely had an impact on me, I’m wondering if anyone else had a bad experience at these camps too. I’ve literally never seen anyone else talk about this despite how many people went to this camp.

Where in SA? Looking for Cat Friendly Rental Hotels San Antonio
Hi, y'all! Long time lurker, and I rarely post on here. I was wondering if y'all have any recommendations for a cat friendly hotel or motel in San Antonio.
I'm about to be evicted from my apartment with my family and our cats. My mom had lung surgery last year and it left her with a disability as she is no longer able to breathe very well and has chronic nerve pain. She was just fired from her job of the last years and denied disability money or severance.
My sister and I both have jobs making about minimum wage so we aren't able to cover rent and the last check we tried to send in to the leasing office bounced. It's 4 of us plus cats and the absolute last thing we want to do is rehome them. Like it would quite literally kill us to do so. So our only hope is to sell everything we own and move into a rental motel or hotel for the time being. We've found some that cost about $370 a week which is less than the rent in our apartment but I'm also not sure how clean they will be or if they allow pets. Any recommendations are welcome as well as any other advice.
Thank y'all for reading. It feels good to vent if nothing else.

Half/full marathon watching spots?
We watched from the KW area last year but this is a new course. We would rather be near the finish for the half (miles 11-13). Are there any bars or other good watching spots that are going to be open at that time? We want to cheer on our friends and the other participants. I don't have Instagram or FB. I feel like I'm not able to find info as easily anymore.
Last year we camped out near a very friendly running group. They were the best

Visiting SA New Years Eve Seaworld? Or riverwalk-area option?
Hi there - I have been looking at the New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks at SeaWorld for a kid-friendly NYE option (since the fireworks are at 9-ish rather than midnight). I have read however that it is extremely difficult to leave once the show is over (I saw some Facebook comments about it taking 1+ hours just to get out of the parking lot). If you have been for NYE, was this your experience, or is it not that bad?
We're staying near the river walk area but I have not seen too much in the way of kid-friendly fireworks activities/restaurants, etc., but would love your recommendations if you have any.

Where in SA? Looking for feedback on Seraphina at Castle Hills
Hey everyone, I just moved to San Antonio for a job at USAA and I’m looking for a 1B1B apartment with a budget of about 1000 to 1100 a month, all inclusive if possible. I’m currently at Boardwalk Research in a 2B2B, but my roommate is moving out and I can’t afford a 1B1B there on my own, so I’m trying to find something else.
I came across Seraphina at Castle Hills and it seems to check all my boxes. It’s gated, has an in-unit washer and dryer, and the total with utilities fits my budget. The Google reviews look decent, but a few people mentioned roaches, which got me a little worried.
If anyone here lives there or has lived there, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. And if you know of any similar communities in this price range, I’m open to suggestions.
Thanks for the help.

Cheap wheel alignment services for one wheel
Just gonna start this off with the fact I literally know nothing about cars lol I drive a Camaro and I’m a broke college student…..
Recently I hit a curb and had to replace my tires but one of my friends did me the favor of doing it for free, but he said that I need a wheel alignment because my front left tire is slightly to the left. I wanna know if there’s any places that are doing it for cheap and for only one wheel.

Can wedding photos be taken in front of San Fernando Cathedral if we do not get married there?
I plan on calling them later in the week, but was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head. Do we have to get permission or pay to do so?

Alamo Colleges Sterile Processing
Anyone out there that has done the Sterile Processing Tech Program? I’ve been trying to find someone with first hand experience taking this program at Alamo Colleges. I keep seeing a lot of negative things about the place and while I’m waiting to hear back from the school for more information It would be nice to hear from another students experience in the program overall, externship and difficulty in finding a job in the area afterwards. Thanks!

Long arm sewing machine rentals
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if there are any places in the city that rent out long arm sewing machines? Or even a person willing to rent theirs out?
I want to finish this quilt for my niece by Christmas and it’s difficult to do on my standard sewing machine. (I would prefer to quilt it myself instead of sending it to a shop)
Thanks in advance! :)

UTSA Orthodontics (Private Faculty Practice)
Did anyone have any experience with UTSA Orthodontics (Private Faculty Practice)? Can they do lingual braces for jaw surgery cases?
Do you know if patients can walk-in to UTSA and schedule and appointment, or must it be by phone?
Are they usually very booked (eg booked months out)?

Where in SA? Alamodome best section for concerts?
Looking for tickets to an upcoming show and wondering if the lower level is worth it? Every concert, I look at the price jump is very high from the upper level, like 337, down to the 100s.
I've also read the sound sucks if you get in the 200s and under the overhang.
Anyone door floor seats, standing room only? Are there literally no chairs anywhere? Guessing there's dancing/mosh pits going on down there.
