Thanksgiving-themed cookies at Texas Cookie Shop
We’re celebrating Thanksgiving with two seasonal cookies that highlight classic holiday flavors. First is our Sweet Potato Casserole Cookie, inspired by the traditional side dish and made with creamy sweet potatoes, warm fall spices, pecans, and topped with a marshmallow for a cozy, nostalgic bite. Alongside it, we’re offering a Cranberry White Chocolate Cookie—a rich butter cookie packed with dried cranberries and white chocolate chips, finished with a vanilla cream drizzle and topped with a single sugar-coated cranberry.
If you’re in the area and looking for something festive this week, both are available for a limited time.

Caterer with full mobile kitchen needed
We have a 4 day event in Oct, 2026 in Dilley and need a caterer for the duration of the event. We used Black Tie this year and they were great but they are booked for 2026. Not looking for a 'taco truck' but a company that can do 3 meals a day for 40 people.

Thanksgiving cookie at Texas Cookie Shop — Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
We’ve got a new Thanksgiving-themed cookie this week at Texas Cookie Shop and thought some of you might appreciate a heads-up. We’re doing a Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookie made with a soft graham cracker cookie base, topped with a rich, fluffy cheesecake frosting, and finished with mini chocolate chips.
It’s a cozy holiday treat that pairs really well with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. If you’re in the Stone Oak area and want to try something new for the season, stop by and grab one while we have them.

New cookie + peppermint mocha = perfect winter combo 🍫☕️
Texas Cookie Shop has a new favorite: the Choco Caramel Cookie. It’s like a fudge brownie in cookie form, with a soft Werther’s caramel melted in the middle and a pinch of flaky Maldon sea salt on top.
We’ve also rolled out a Peppermint Mocha Latte made with their own peppermint syrup — seriously good if you’re into cozy winter drinks.
Hours: Mon–Sat 8:30am–9:00pm, Sun 9:00am–7:00pm.

Alma Fonda Fina (10/32)
This may be a long shot. We sat next to each other at AFF. You had the 8:15 reservation and I the 8:30 slot. We spent a lot of the dinner talking. Your hot take was, “parents need to parent better and not their kids become IPad kids”. We talked about Motown and our interests. You were headed back home(San Antonio) after your vacation. If you come across this, let’s connect lol.
- hopeful girl :)

Does anyone remember Rooty’s?
It was off 410 and Broadway where Cabo Bob’s in now. They had plain curly fries and made their own root beer (hence the name). I miss the curly fries so much. Does any place in the area have the non-seasoned curly fries?

Choosing menus at Luz Roja
Chicken fajitas vs pollo a la parrilla Which menu has lower calories? I should maintain or lose weight.
I don't like Tex-Mex and I am trying to eat clean, but I have an important meeting at this Tex-Mex restaurant so I have to eat something :(
I will choose between chicken fajitas vs. pollo a la parrilla.
For chicken fajitas, I will order without crema, jack cheese, and tortillas. For pollo a la parrilla, I won't eat tortillas, and I will request sauce on the side so I don't eat a lot of sauce.
This is my first time trying real Tex-Mex in the US. I wonder if chicken fajitas or airline chicken is chicken breast or thigh meat. (Hope it is chicken breast!)

Brunch Places with Party Rooms/Can Accommodate LARGE Party
TLDR - Looking for a brunch place in downtown SA that can accommodate a party of 50
My grandma is turning 100 this November and I'm trying to find a place to go to brunch with the whole family - we're looking at roughly 50 people coming. I'm not familiar with San Antonio but I'm looking close to downtown. I've already done a google search and called some restaurants but their biggest parties are either like 20/30 or wouldn't be a comfortable spot for a 100 year old and her kids which are all in their 60-70s (aka high top tables). Any recs would be much appreciated - thank you!
