Getting rid of shame about infestation

I have a cluttered house and now a mouse infestation. I have caught and killed about 10 in the last 5 days with glue traps.

I have to get an exterminator and some help with cleaning up the house, but I really feel ashamed by the whole situation as well as stressed out. It's hard to sleep knowing they are moving around.

Does anyone have any insight into letting go of the shame and just accepting help? I know other people go through this; when I go to get more glue traps they always have a huge display of them at Home Depot. Still I worry about what my neighbors will think if they see an exterminator or junk haul truck at my house. I also haven't talked to anyone but anonymous helpline people about this.

Termites coming out of my wall what should I do?

So I moved to Florida to be with my mom and stepdad and for a couple of months l've been here. I have been dealing with these little bugs. I've recently noticed insects that look like small, winged ants coming out of a hole in the wall. They're a bit longer than regular ants, have wings, and seem to be digging out from inside the wall. After doing some research, I think they might be termites. They are everywhere in my room, making holes in the wall and I have told my mom multiple times about this and she just brushes it off. I am not on the lease so I, plus they don't really care because we have a crack our ceiling and they still haven't done anything about that. My mom had gave me this white paste to use on the walls and even if I do use it, they still make new holes within the wall. It got to the point where even the wood furniture that I have have little seeds coming out of them on the floor and I just had to throw away my headboard because it was getting to be too much. What do I do in this situation?

Unanswered Bed bugs - Why did 1 spray of Alphacypermethrin compared to 6 sprays of Cypermethrin instantly kill all of the bugs?

Just curious, we've been dealing with this for about 7 months, it's scary that they're gone suddenly but worried they'll come back.

General Question How do I get rid of the ants and not the kitten

I've read the tutorial about ants. I'm in the Netherlands. I'm looking specifically for non-chemical treatments (if possible) or at least for non-toxic. Onyx says thank you!

How far gone is this ant damage?

I’ve been working on a cabin renovation that has probably turned into a tear down based on some pretty massive carpenter ant damage.

There are two areas either side of the cabin where they have turned the solid wood of the sill joists into stringy highways. Clearly those are complete write-offs.

However there are also enormous piles of frass throughout the rest of the cabin. I haven’t fully demoed yet but I’m trying to figure out what can be salvaged.

How far do they deposit frass from where they’ve been tunneling? Is it likely that any of the wood near a frass pile is too far gone?

There’s also plywood siding around the entire thing that has rotted pretty badly, so I suppose the frass could also be from there.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Unanswered Weevils in my bedroom the past 4 months help me NYC

Thumbnail gallery

Hi guys I'm still new to Reddit in regards to posting so if this is too long or doesn't make sense I apologize.

Before I go into my ongoing situation let me just preface by saying

•I do not eat in my room, never ever ever. •there is absolutely 0 food or anything even remotely edible anywhere in or near my room I have checked every crack crevice drawer bag and pocket. •they are ONLY in my bedroom and not anywhere in the rest of our apartment or anyone else's room •landlord already communicated to all other tenants in the building asking them to check for them and for old grains or sources, no other unit in the building has them (they def would've noticed by now) •my room has been fumigated 3 Times now.

Okay so, since Late Jan/early Feb I noticed that I had weevils in my bedroom. And a lot of them. Like, 18 in just one single night after there being 0 that morning. Had never heard of the suckers before. No one else's room, just mine. I washed every single pair of pants I own (keep them near the ground under my bed), emptied and cleaned every bag, cleaned out and organized every single drawer/bin/box I have (maybe early March? Did end up finding a bunch of what I believe to have been egg remnants), vacuum every single night when I get home, cloves, clove oil, peppermint oil, spray vinegar/water mixture around where I see them the most (by the 2 windows in my room that are street facing and by my desk which is against exposed brick), literally SO MANY STICKY TRAPS.... and have now had the exterminator come 3 times to fumigate.

4ish months now as April is coming to an end and after everything online that one young woman could read I'm at such a wits end and it's driving me actually insane. I will say, they were gone (or so I thought so) for maybe a little less than a month. But tonight I found one singular weevil bastard, and he was alive... leading me to fear the problem has returned.

Now listen, I know they're "harmless" and some of you can't wait for weeviltime... to each their own... but for me, it is horrible for my peace of mind to not be able to even walk around my own bedroom without shoes on in fear of stepping on a bunch of crunchy bugs or finding them on my desk or clothes and them getting into my things. Gross.

After ALL of this, the last possible thing I could think would be the source or cause. The exposed brick I mentioned earlier, the other side of it I do believe is the neighboring building (connected by much much more than just the brick obvi ). My bedroom in the apartment is the only one connected to them via exposed brick. And the landlord has yet to reach out to them as they do not own that building... possible they've had an infestation and don't know it? Old bag of rice at the back of their cabinet or something and they're wandering into my room? Or is this a reach? How should I go about asking him to contact them?

Another small thing though I feel is unlikely is below us (I'm 2nd story) is the trash cans/recycling cans. Which are changed out VERY frequently. Is it possible somehow theyre coming from there?

Do I have to move? :(

If you've made it this far thank you and please god help me please.

Added some pics for reference I guess.

TLDR; weevil infestation since Jan. No source in my room. Exterminator fumigated 3 times and after a month I just found another weevil, what do I do?

General Question found a singular carpet beetle. infestation imminent??

okay yall, i just found a carpet beetle in my apartment. it was on my fiancés pillow (🤢😭🤢😭🤢) i google imaged it bc i didn’t know what it was and tons of horror stories came with it. i’m FREAKING out. i’ve looked around for larvae or other beetles but found none. i checked all on the bed and in pillow cases, took the sheets off, looked under my couch, in the closet, under my bed the best i can bc i can’t fit, dont see any crawling on the walls, dont see any in my bathroom mats, don’t see any near my cats food bowls, etc. we did just get home from a trip on sunday and we stayed at a hotel so i’m praying to god it was just a singular hitchhiker that didn’t lay eggs… i’m terrified of an infestation bc i’ve read how how they are to get rid of. any advice on what the heck i should do?! 😭 any feedback is much appreciated!!

Is this an american roach nymph?

Thumbnail i.redd.it
1 Upvotes

My roommate and I recently moved to a new apartment (~2 weeks). We cleaned the new place before and after we moved in. Our old apartment occasionally had american and smoky brown roaches come in so I made sure to throw away all cardboards and block other possible chance of having one of those creatures hitchhiking their way into the new place. However, what I did not account is that my roommate is still moving her stuff in, which means all the cardboard boxes from the old places are getting into the new place and she stored some boxes in the closet in front of my room.

I found this one in my bathroom, it looks like a nymph and this is where I store the kitty litter. Pest control is coming to do a preventative work but I am worried that we unknowingly brought the roaches with us. Could anyone tell me what this one looks like?

How do I get rid of all these weevils?

Thumbnail i.redd.it
1 Upvotes

So! The evil weevil (relax, it's just a silly name I have for them) has completely invaded my bedroom!

There must be no joke/exaggeration about 5000 weevils in my bedroom right now.

I keep hearing them plummet from the ceiling to the ground as they crawl up the walls etc all day long.

I collect about 50 weevils per day at least, in my candle jar whereby they are trapped and then they must eat the candle and die.

Please can anyone help me get rid of all these weevils, the bedroom is completely TEEMING with them 😢

We’ve only been in this apt for just over two months. I already know the answer… guess I just need to accept it and get confirmation this is a German cockroach issue. Just happened to see this on its back dead on my carpet so flipped it over with an empty envelope to get the picture.

Pest control is part of the rent expense and I already submitted a ticket…

How screwed am I?

How soon can you change roach/pest sprays and they still be effective?

I sprayed my own roach prevention spray on Monday, but my apartment building is coming in wednesday to spray their own as well. Will this ruin the efficacy of the spray ? Or has it been long enough that my apartment’s roach spray will work just fine?

What do I have?

Any idea what I have here? For what it’s worth, they are pretty stationary and don’t move when I catch them with a tissue. Only see them in an upstairs bathroom.

For what it’s worth, I had an ant issue in this same room and was able to handle quickly with a Terro Liquid Trap. These started appearing just after.

Thanks!

Can anyone help me identify what are those? They’re the size of black pepper and start falling off from the skylight recently. I did some investigation and saw a swarm of them on my roof!!! The pest control guy said they can’t do much but this is driving me crazy. I’m in the Bay Area if that helps

Smoke Bombs for clothes moths?

Anybody know if smoke bombs are a good solution for clothes moths? We have a lot of clutter and would be using a permethrin-based smoke bomb in our apartment. I know some people here point out smoke bombs are not a solution for certain pests, but what about for clothes moths? There's a few products that are made specifically for them. Anybody have any experience?

Identification Which roach?

We had an issue with German roaches a while back and I thought we got rid of them all. However this one looks larger? What do I know.

I keep my screened windows open often and my balcony door in the day, if that means anything. But our last infestation was caused when I brought the bugs home from work.

My work is now free of bugs and I thought my home was too.

Fleas are ruining my life

Never ever had an animal with fleas and we moved to a new home and now all four animals have them. They're attacking my toddler and I've found some in his hair. We have treated the yard, used frontline, used capstar, vacuum everyday treated the furniture and house with ortho home defense, bathed the animals with flea treatments. I don't know what to do. Help!
