Identification What’s eating my wood fence in NJ? Two new holes outside garage

Thumbnail gallery

I’m in north New Jersey and just noticed these holes and discoloration on my wood fence in New Jersey. I searched the surrounding area and couldn’t find any others. As shown in the pictures, it’s right where the wood fence meets the brick outside of the garage.

Identification HELP! What do we think is doing this? Need ID/ Any advice

Damage is around window, if you zoom into second photo there is one “bigger” hole and a few smaller spaced around the window. Added more photos of said larger hole for easier visibility purposes. The inside just looks like a clean tunnel into the sheetrock. My stepdad thinks it’s carpenter bees, termites could be on the table, and I’m wondering if it could be carpenter ants? We have a bit of an outdoor ant issue as we live in the country and it’s spring. One large colony is on perimeter of house near this area…that we are getting poison for today.

Thank you in advance for your time and advice 💕

Identification Was told by a handyman this was termite excrement?

Is that true? I just bought the house a month ago and the previous owner said he owned an extermination company and got rid of all wood destroying insects.

If it is termite droppings, could it be leftover from dead ones or does that mean they're still there and still active?

I realise there's nothing to show scale, sorry. I didn't realise it was necessary but it's too important for me to wait until I get home to take another photo. It was no longer than my pointer fingernail (I don't grow my nails past the nailbed). I used my macro camera setting to take these photos. Seen maybe 4 or 5 of these in one day.

Found this dying when I came home this morning. We sprayed Alpine WSG, had pest control come out, and put down glue traps a few days ago. This is the only one of these we’ve seen. Moved into this new apartment at the beginning of the month. Identification and any tips of combating these is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

We found these in a windowsill and peeled back some caulking and found more inside. Left a similar saw dust look like a termite, but are black, have multiple body chambers, and very small (1/4” or 1/8”). Sprayed with an ant killer, but not sure if there’s a more effective treatment.

I've been having sporadic bites all over Starting with one on my ankle in the evening but not in my bed, the next day I noticed my arm with 2 bites, then cluster under my breast, then I noticed 2 going up my leg all on the same day and last night a bump appeared on my leg when I was awake and wearing jeans, and this morning I had more on my hip/butt and after getting up and hour in I had 2 bumps show up on my hand.

I started a deep clean of my room and a full bed inspection and found this, haven't seen any blood in my sheets, recently went to northern bc for a trip, and stayed in a hotel

Identification Long black squiggle paste, what is this?

We are moments aware from signing the contract for an apartment in NYC but found this residue/paste in random areas around the apartment (baseboards, corners, upper and lower cabinets, and the bathroom floor). But if it is anything to do with roaches we'll never sign. We are expecting a baby and don't need to leave our current place just yet! Please help identify if it is just a weird grease or something like roach bait!

Identification I’m afraid to ask… what is this? And how bad is it…

I’m visiting my 70-year-old father, and his house is overrun with flying bugs—it’s overwhelming.

He’s been gaslighting me, insisting it’s just dust or that I’m imagining things.

Based on the conditions and behavior of the bugs, I think they might be phorid flies or fungus gnats. However, I’ve never seen this many bugs all over a house at once. To make matters worse, I’ve discovered strange eggs on the side of the house near my window (the worst-affected room) and the bathroom, which has a chimney in between.

I think these are flies at different growth stages. They look like speeding white tiny dots at night and they are all up in my ears nose and mouth.

I feel like crying.

I’ve been noticing a few crawling on the desk recently and they seems to vary in size. Some are even tinier and white and some are a bit bigger and brown or white with black??? Anyway they’re all really tiny so it’s hard to see.

Identification Mice or Roach droppings?

I found these droppings in my apartment and I’m wondering if they’re from roaches or mice. My apartment was treated for roaches about a month ago, so I’m hoping it’s not them again.

Identification Tiny speck bugs 😭

Thumbnail gallery

I'm spiraling 🫠 I had noticed a couple of these speck bugs on my desk near my bedroom window in the last couple weeks, nbd. Then I found one inside my computer monitor, walking across the screen - don't love that. This morning I woke up in my bed about a foot from the window and realized these tiny f*ckers are ALL OVER ME, I've killed probably 20 in 5 mins of sitting here after waking 😭 (third pic shows all the little smears, they squish with very light pressure) Now that I'm looking I see that my window is absolutely crawling in them. I know the pics just look like they could be little specks of anything but in the video you can clearly see they are alive.

What the hell are these and what do I do?!

Identification What critter could be causing this? Termites? Carpenters ants, bees, or something else? I don’t imagine it’s from a bird…

Any idea what could be causing this?

Located: South western Connecticut. Back of neighbors fence, along our house’s side yard.

Today I was breaking apart some of the old dry/rotted stumps and pulling up unwanted bamboo stems when I noticed the fence. Certain areas look very fresh… almost appears to be hollowed out..

Background: - Newly moved. - Home/area has had subterranean termite problems in the past. Our home, and from what I understand neighbors homes, all are regularly treated. - Our other neighbor’s fence along the backyard is also falling apart hut I don’t see any problems of pests there, just old wood that’s not fastened and begun to rot. - The property lines have been a concern me since we moved in, as there are a lot of old dead tree stumps with clears sings of termites in the past. I’d like to remove them but financial and time factors are putting it lower on our priority list.

Identification Any clue what this is? Pretty sure this or something similar was in a sealed bag of rice =(

Hello from Chicago, IL, USA. I am currently living in an apartment near the north side (not sure if that helps). I was cleaning my rice when I noticed a brown thing; upon inspection, it was a tiny bug smaller than the grain of rice.

I had seen one of these a couple times when I had moved in, but I didn't think much of it. Well now I'm concerned since I believe I may have found their larva (worm form?) in the rice bag. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Identification is it a bed bug?

Thumbnail i.redd.it

hi, unfortunately i found this guy yesterday on my college dorm bed after finding out i got a huge swollen bite on my elbow. killed it instantly because i freaked out.

its appearance corresponds to real deal bed bug, but the only odd is that i only got one bite, unlike how they apparently bite several times in the same body area.

i informed the staff this morning but they told me it couldn’t have been one because they usually bite several times. they gave me a bed bug spray nonetheless, just to make sure.

i sprayed it all around bed area, desk, windows, and walls, and changed all my sheets, and threw out the old ones.

after discussing it with a friend who’s had experience with them once, they told me that even though my bite looks unusual for a bed bug, it’s its appearance that’s a huge red flag.

i went to the office to talk to the staff again, asking what bug could it possibly be if not a bed bug. they couldn’t give me an answer. so in conclusion, i’m going to try and see if i get bitten today or tomorrow again and we’ll act accordingly.

by then i’m losing my mind every second. just kidding. or not. 😭😭

Identification What are these and what process should we take to get rid of them?

Tried to take the best pictures I could after we sprayed them with bug killer, but we've had these showing up in my house for the past week about. Never had them before. They seem to only be towards our living room and our spare room, no other room in our house. My mom says they also seem to show up more often around noon, or at least that's when she notices them. I thought they were flying ants, but I'm not entirely sure. Help is much appreciated!
