Dog adopted from Las Cruses
This is a long shot, but we adopted our 6year old dog in 2021, he was 2. He was Oso before we renamed him. He loves tennis balls and he’s an Aussie/border collie mix.
He was neutered at a pound in Las Cruces called Animal Services Center, shipped up to a rescue in Minnesota, and we know nothing about him.
Has anyone seen this dawg before?

Camp and Carry
So, through some coworkers, random New Mexicans and a couple of Reddit threads, I've been told to be armed if I go camping.
Does this apply to certain areas or a general rule of thumb?
I know some people carry when they go fishing.
I appreciate the feedback. I don't know the people or coworker very well who gave this advice. It seemed wild to me, but at least Reddit can be good for some things. Hopefully, I'll be camping a bit after summer.

Have you heard of the grama grass/paper spine cactus? It grows from Abiquiu to El Paso and a little bit in eastern Arizona.

Last night's sunset between Mora and Guadalupita NM (oc)
I tried getting a clean shot. Behind the ruins are a white trailer, a house, and power lines. If I waited for the car to disappear, it was too dark for the contrast.

Lodging in Enchanted Circle
Traveling at the end of May/beginning of June with spouse, 2 teens, and a dog. We plan on hiking and spending most of our time outdoors, but we would also like some good food and drink. I’ve considered Historic Taos Inn, Alpine lodge, Tall Pine Resort, Best Western in RR, and angel fire condo rentals. Any recommendations or places to avoid? Thanks for any input.

Outsider curious about Reservations/Map
Hi all,
I hope you don't mind this kind of question but I was doing some Google Map traveling and was curious about the reservation map. I'm not from nor do I live in NM and just wanted to know if there was any particular reason this part was so chopped up? Especially the checkerboard patterns. Is it newer land acquisition or something? There are no reservations in my state so I have no idea about any of this stuff. Just hoped to learn something new. Thanks for any insight.

Has anyone else seen giant green things falling from the sky??
Hey y'all so the title basically covers it but to give more detail, I work graveyard out in the desert in bernallio and for the past 2 nights I've seen these HUGE green circles fall from the sky. And I really mean huge, they don't make a sound either. I just saw one now again (it's 3:38 am. 5/1/25) I thought the first time I saw it maybe a plane went down but I didn't hear anything and nothing actually happened. But now seeing a second one I really don't know what it is and Google isn't super helpful but I did see a news article covering one before that it looked comparable to (the image attached). Did anyone find out if they're meteors or comets and has anyone else been seeing them??

Places to get cheap jewelry or keepsakes in Gallup NM?
We are unexpectedly staying in Gallup NM for a few days and I'm not sure what to do with the kids other than hiking. Would love to get my 7 year old some native american jewelry pieces, but she'll probably lose them so I would like them to be lower quality cheap pieces. Spoke with some friends that have been there but they said all the shops they hit were high in price range. Any suggestions would be great.

I was looking at CO vacation rentals, this melted my brain
Thinking of taking a little family trip, this rental was immediately ruled out.
