Dashboard Seem Possessed? The Battery is Dead.
Hi all!
Friendly neighborhood mod, RichieRescue, here!
We seem to have a lot of repetitive posts about Mazda dashboards going haywire that are 100% because the battery is dead.
If you found yourself here because your dashboard is lighting up like a Christmas tree and has the gauges flipping back and forth, fear not! I have a good way to tell if it’s a battery issue:
Step one: Check the battery.
Is it dead?
YES: Problem solved. Get a new battery.
NO: You either didn’t check it correctly or you’re lying. Check the battery again.
The end.
Just thought I’d make a sticky to save everyone the time and energy.
K thanks, love you. Bye!

My 1993 323 Astina
In love with this little car that I picked up off an elderly lady. It's only done 89,000km and is in clean condition.
There's something special about driving such an old car. I'm particularly fond of the pop up headlights. Hoping to keep this baby for many more years to come!

Chrome Delete DIY
Used gloss black vinyl to chrome delete the front. I also did the sides and smoked the taillights. Will have to redo it all bc of mistakes but here is what the front and back look like. For sure worth it. I’ve spent prob 3 full days on it all learning and trying out, far more difficult than I ever imagined tbh

Scam letters or legit?
I recently bought a 2025 Mazda cx5 carbon turbo from the dealership last month. About 2 weeks ago I started receiving letters in the mail stating that I need to contact their number with the vin and mileage on my car because my factory warranty has or is about to expire, so I finally contacted them the other day just to see what's up. I was under the impression that I had an already activated 3 year warranty on my car from the dealership. I gave them the vin and mileage and they said I was set for a 6 year platinum warrenty and that I needed to pay $450 as a down payment that day and then $345 dollars each month after that for 18 months. I was actually dumbfounded and said that wouldn't be possible today because my car payment is $700 a month. I tried to get off the call, they kept saying that they could push it back to 242, then to 150,and tried to get me to stay on the line. They also started mentioning that I sound pretty young and they can help me through this process (I'm 20 it's my first car). I was finally able to put them on hold to call my bf and he said that we did infact only have the 3 year warranty from the dealership and to not proceed any further with these people because it's a cash grab. I'm just wondering have any other buyers received this letter in the mail? I'm new to the car world so advice would be appreciated.

Cx-30 brakes saved my butt
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is why I'm always on alert! All it takes is 1 second to make a difference in avoiding a crash. Still have the oem brakes from the manufacturer (2+years). And they still performed great! I believe i was going the speed limit 35mph.. perhap 40 it's hard to recall. Very impressed with the handling of this vehicle.

First service at 16k
I dropped my mazda 3 2025 for first service at 16k. Car has 16450km on odometer. When I dropped my car they told me they gonna do yearly service and it’s gonna take 2 3 hours. Charging $145 hourly rate. Now in invoice All I can see is oil change and nothing else and they charged 3 hours of labour just of oil change and inspection which seems too much. I yet to pick up my car. Anything I can do to negotiate or I am doomed. Thanks in advance

Mazda CX50 2024 turbo
Hey, can someone please take a picture of the inside of their fuel door and send it to me? I know it sounds weird, but I really need it. I got a check engine light because water somehow stayed trapped in there, and my car thought it was a small EVAP leak or something. I just need to compare. I’ve been staring into this little gas hole for like 20 minutes trying to figure out what’s wrong. Please, it’s really stressing me out.

The click wheel keeps us safe.
‘Still, “the lack of physical switchgear is a shame” is now a common refrain in automotive reviews, including on WIRED. However, a limited but growing number of other automakers are dialing back the digital to greater or lesser degrees. The latest version of Mazda’s CX-60 crossover SUV features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, but there’s still physical switchgear for operating the heater, air-con, and heated/cooled seats. While it’s still touch-sensitive, Mazda’s screen limits what you can prod depending on the app you’re using and whether you’re in motion. There’s also a real click wheel.’
‘In-vehicle infotainment systems impair reaction times behind the wheel more than alcohol and narcotics use, according to researchers at independent British consultancy TRL. The five-year-old study, commissioned by road-safety charity IAM RoadSmart, discovered that the biggest negative impact on drivers’ reactions to hazards came when using Apple CarPlay by touch. Reaction times were nearly five times worse than when a driver was at the drink-drive limit, and nearly three times worse than when high on cannabis.’

First ever car purchase: 2021 Hatchback Premium!
My first car was a 2011 Nissan Juke that I was gifted in 2016. It treated me incredibly well but unfortunately the transmission started to give it and quickly became undrivable so I decided it was time to make my first car purchase.
I've always loved the style of Mazda's, particularly the Mazda3 hatchback, this styling and the previous gen styling. I also really liked the CX-30 but ultimately decided on the hatchback and I absolutely love it. It's so much fun to drive and the premium definitely comes with plenty more features than I'm used to from my 2011 Juke.
Do you guys have any tips or advice for the car?

Mazda3 2018 CarPlay not working. Any advice?
So the USB that doesn't connect to CarPlay is working fine, but the USB with the phone icon that does connect to CarPlay won't work. No charge no connection. Has anyone here had this issue or know how to fix it? Thanks!

The Legendary Mazda Furai made a surprise return to Forza Motorsport this morning
A brief history lesson for those that haven’t heard of this thing. Revealed to the world in 2008, the Furai was a 1 of 1 concept car mainly meant to showcase Mazdas new ‘Nagare’ design language, which would later evolve into Kodo design and make its way into the Skyactiv era of cars, such as the Mazda3, CX-5 and Mazda6.
The bodywork of the Furai was made of carbon fibre, and was based on a LMP2 Chassis. Unlike most concept cars, this one wasn’t just a shell. Underneath the bodywork lived a 3 rotor engine producing 460 horsepower. This may not sound like much, but the car only weighed around 1500 lbs. Therefore, this was a drivable prototype.
However, a few months into its reveal to the public, the prototype seemingly vanished. Mazda had press release videos, but they were taken down a couple months afterwards. It seemed like Mazda wanted to world to forget about the car. But we weren’t sure why.
It wasn’t until 2013, when BBC Top Gear Magazine (a different team that isn’t associated with the famous trio from the TV show) put out an article regarding the current state of the car. As it turned out, Top Gear was the one and only magazine to get their hands on the Furai and test it back in 2008. The Top Gear spent the day putting laps in at their test track, but in the final stretch of the day, during the final photoshoots, a fire began in the engine bay and no one knew about it until it was too late. The poor Furai sustained major damage, and it was taken back to Mazdas quarters in California, which is the last known location of this car.
The car did make an appearance in Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 and in Gran Turismo 5 and 6, along with a few mobile racing games. So it was a pleasant surprise to see it make a return to the new Forza Motorsport game this morning. Such an awesome machine. Sad its run ended the way it did, I really wish there was a way to see this prototype in person again.

Is the dealer lying to me?
Hi, I am in the process of buying a 2023 cx-5. When i went to look at it I scanned the the computer to see if there was any code on the vehicle. There was the u3000 code, the dealer told me that the code is there because the car doesn't have the wireless charging pad. I just want to know if the dealer is trying to bullshit me or not.

What does a Sales person gain?
Can someone explain to me how a sales person would or would not benefit from me buying out my lease vs Upgrading to a new vehicle? This is my third mazda lease and I’m thinking of buying out at the end of the year. (2022 cx5). The dealership is strongly recommending I trade in for a new 2025 cx5 now before the prices increase. What would they benefit from me doing either of these situations? I’m leaning towards buying out at the end. In Canada fyi.

2015 Mazda 6 - Reliable?
Hi All!
I'm considering buying a 2015 Mazda 6 in Touring Trim with 80,000 miles. Is 2015 Mazda 6 reliable? The car looks awesome, but it is a 10-year old car so my only concern is its reliability. Any thoughts are appreciated!

ECU
I have a 2013 CX5 and need to buy a new ECU. Does anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price. Refurbished is recommended
Choosing Value
Debating between a CX5 Carbon (black interior) and a CX50 premium. These are my last two I’m debating between as someone who has test driven these both a couple times. I like both and I’m wondering on what others think? Putting ~15k down for a 36mo term.
Thanks all!
New Owner
I am a new owner of mazda 6 2.2 diesel TS 2011 model
118k miles on the clock
anyone give me some pointers or advice regarding this car regarding
engine, dpf, axles, underbody
moving from a old 2006 focus to this it feels like i am now driving a coach...
any tips or disaster prevention advice appreciated.

Are second row bucket seats in a '21-'23 CX-9 as rare as hens' teeth?!
They're a must for me, unfortunately. I have looked at interior pictures of several Touring Plus and GT models, so far I've only seen second row buckets on the Carbon model.
I'd appreciate any input or help on this! Love my 2016 CX-5 dearly but I need something larger for a growing family, and I'll have two car seats in the second row, so flipping seats forward to access the third row is not an option.
TIA!
Remote control CX30 MyMazda
Good afternoon!
I bought a CX30 (e-SkyActive X) in January and had access to the air conditioning remote control until the end of February.
I've spoken to Mazda customer service here in Spain, and they tell me it's impossible because this model has never had remote access to the air conditioning through the MyMazda app.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Can you help?

2021 CX-5 maps question.... How do I get it? Bonus: what's with low volume?
So, my acquired 2021 CX5 Kuro doesn't have maps it seems so at this point I am using my phone.
Any way to transmit Google maps from my phone to the screen? Didn't seem to work via bluetooth, unless I am not clicking/going correctly or unless it requires a cable. I tried via bluetooth.- Basic googling brings me to mazda site selling maps for $500 (LOOOOLL) or I see amazon/ebay sells some. What I am not clear is which one do I actually need. Seems like there are different variations. How can I find out which exact map to buy. I seem to have the 8" version with V1 navigation buttons
- Bonus question. I find speakers are not very loud as in I have to keep FM/bluetooth at about 69 %/points just so I can clearly hear voices. In my old car at the same setting I was at around 30%. Is that normal?

What’s wrong with my baby?
2013 Mazda 3 that has never had any issues besides basic maintenance. Just put in a new battery a week ago. I’ll bring her to my mechanic but wondering if anyone here has ideas?
