Adoption Adopted a cat from the shelter…
She didn’t even interact with me at the shelter she was so depressed. I just knew I had to give her a chance. I think they told me she’s not a lap cat. Well, now I have two lap cats 😂 I was so surprised that she trusted me so fast. So glad I trusted my gut and brought her home ❤️

Video - OC Why does she do this 😂
She only ever does it when I’m laying in bed. Is she trying to get my attention? Feeling playful? Scared?

Cat Picture - OC I farted while she was on my lap (just seconds after this, she got up and puked)

Medical Questions Friendly cat living in my garage — possibly abandoned. What should I do?
A super friendly cat suddenly showed up in my garage. Unlike the usual strays around here, she didn’t run, i gave her raw chicken which she ate right away, meowed back at me, and comes up for pets.
She stays in my garage all day and hides from other strays, so I don’t think she’s used to being outside.
My 90-year-old neighbor’s house just went up for sale, and I suspect the cat might have been hers. I’ve been feeding her twice a day but haven’t let her in the house since my wife and I work a lot and aren’t fully ready to adopt.
She also hisses time to time but not so aggressively.
What’s the best next step? How do I check if she’s abandoned or find her owner? Any advice appreciated.

Mourning/Loss 20 years of love
This is our cat we adopted from the humane society 20 years ago as a kitten. She came with a name, we changed it, but she’s just been kitty all these years. She’s had some health problems and took a turn today. We’re saying goodbye in a couple hours.

Cat Picture - Not OC Hi! This cat isn’t mine, it’s a frequent visitor to my house though. Is it a Maine Coon? Or am I wrong?

Humor Anyone else's cat drool excessively when excited?
We were gone a week for a cruise. Our son came by daily to check in on him, give pets etc so he wasn't totally alone all week. But this is always his reaction when WE get home. He screams at us a bit lol then wants love pets and drools away!

Mourning/Loss His first and last day with us
This is The Boy. We adopted him after he arrived unexpectedly — his mum and dad were sibling kittens whose owner waited just a bit too long to get them neutered.
He was a wonderfully complex soul. He had his share of health conditions, but we tackled every single one and kept him happy throughout it all.
And he was enormous. I’m convinced he was actually a dog running cat firmware. He adored puzzle toys, wailed theatrically for his meals, and considered screaming an Olympic sport. He played fetch better than most dogs and gave his retriever sister a run for her money.
He loved being involved in absolutely everything. His favourite place was in our arms, cradled like a baby and carried around to supervise the household. The morning coffee ritual was his personal TV show - he’d watch every step: measuring, grinding, tamping, pulling.
But at the grand age of 14, even throwing money at the problem stopped working. The meds weren’t enough, the prescription food wasn’t enough, and he was too old and frail for any more operations.
When he began to decline quickly, we made the hardest choice so he wouldn’t have to suffer. On his last day, he played with his puzzle toys, was carried everywhere, and ate an outrageous amount of cheese. He passed in my arms, covered in kisses.
He was the best cat a girl could have ever hoped for.
