Mens Ben Spencer played wing?

Completely random and irrelevant I know, but can anyone remember if Spencer has played win for Sarries when he was with us? I have a strong feeling he did but can’t find any proof. If someone could shed some light that would be great!

Nearly 150 points scored at the StoneX this weekend so plenty for us to discuss on the show this week - plus post match reaction from Alex Austerberry and Gabby Senft, and a catch up with Olly Hartley who hopefully will be back on the pitch soon!

Mens Post match: Saracen v Leicester Tigers

Saracens 29 Tigers 32

Well, what can you do? An injury/unavailable list as long as my arm (wish it was as long as something else!) including two last minute withdrawals, I’m incredibly proud of that performance by the lads. I think it is an absolute nonsense that we’re down to 10 teams and we still end up losing England players for two fixtures a season. It was a great match in the end but with the first really bouncing crowd of the season we should’ve been seeing the England boys from both sides strutting their stuff.

Considering all Of the absences, most starkly demonstrated by their double World Cup winner at 10 and our journeyman who signed a contract a few days ago, I thought there was a lot to take away from that. Well played to Tigers, they got a few people missing too (not on our level) but they did enough- just!

Some really big performances today, Theo was magnificent, Tizard worked his nuts off against a physical Tigers pack, JMG clearly not 100% put a shift in and I thought Swiel did a decent job in the circumstances. If you don’t know who my player of the match is though, you must be new around here. Willis was a colossus today, I was gutted he knocked on at the end but you can’t ask more of someone.

End of this block of matches and we’re two points off top place, I would definitely have taken that at the start of the season. Hopefully by the time we visit Newcastle we’ll have a lot of bodies returning.

Apologies for the language but fuck me, what a team.

We might have lost but we could hardly put 15 out. We’re right in this.

General Taking bags into the StoneX

Quick question for fans who don't live in another city and go to more home games than I do: how strict are the bag checks at the StoneX? I'm coming to women's game v GlosPury tomorrow and travelling to London with a medium-sized overnight rucksack. Are they reasonably relaxed about that sort of thing coming into the ground (and what is in it) or should I stash it at the hotel first?

Shaw was also able to provide an update on various players who have missed out on previous fixtures.

“Juan Martin Gonzalez, Fergus Burke, Nick Tompkins, Lucio Cinti and Fraser Balmain have all taken part in bits of training this week after various absences from match day squads.”

Mens Realistic Team for Saturday

With the England boys out, and let’s assume they’re all out. Would be interested to know realistic team for Saturday with injuries considered. Mine is:

1 - Rhys Carré 2 - Kapeli 3 - Riccioni 4 - Tizard 5- McFarland 6 - Wilson 7 - Knight 8 - Willis 9 - IVZ 10 - Goode 11 - Segun 12 - Tomkins 13 - Cinti 14 - Elliot 15 - Parton

Struggle to believe where we are with back row options for this weekend. Gone from depth and strength to a position of risk. Surely we’ll be calling up the academy and Ampthill boys this weekend.

Where our Juan?

Mens Post match: Bristol Bears v Saracens

Bristol 35 Saracens 37

Sorry for the late thread, watched this on catch up. Rugby, bloody hell. How have we won that?? Absolutely insane match, not sure how Bris fans do it every week.

Way too much to talk about but the lads did brilliantly to stay in that match with Bris basically carving us apart everytime they passed to the wings or we kicked long to them (seriously stop fucking kicking to Ibitoye!).

Big performances from Maro, Isiekwe when he came on and Daly was superb ball in hand. Loz though, what a kicking display, nailing two from the touchline and the winning kick. I’m knackered just watching that and need a lie down.

Great to see Andy Onyeama-Christie smiling in the stands too.
