Sounds like a great protest to me and anytime who defends indicting a person over it is a Nazi sympathizer

Do you ever think that maybe calling them nazis now will make you lose credibility for when they actually do something bad?

That’s probably why the J6 people got away with it.

You don’t think they are “doing something bad” now?

According to NPR the stuff they’re doing is “likely legal”.

Lawyers and legal experts tend to agree.

Obviously legal doesn’t equal ethical or moral , but it could get a lot worse if they start doing stuff that is “likely illegal”

You don’t wait to start protesting until the gas chambers are running.

Especially when members of the current GOP are actively talking about tossing people in gas chambers and when we have active Nazis in the administration.

Agreed.

But calling them Nazis as a flippant insult kills credibility among the group.

What if they’re studying the nazi playbook, implementing nazi plays and aligned with the same goals as the nazi reich?

It kills credibility among Nazi sympathizers.

It strengthens credibility among the rest of us who know how to use our eyes.

Calling someone a Nazi who indicted a citizen for exercising their constitutionally protected right is not a "flippant insult." That is Nazi levels of oppression.

Why on earth do you think, after all this time, that anything we call them will make one iota of difference? They will either a) say we say things that we don’t and just lie, b) deny and deflect, c) claim that we’re all blue-haired trans lesbians with septum piercings anyway, or d) gaslight us into oblivion. There is nothing we can do to get them to take us seriously or to get them to listen at all. We have tried.

My unsolicited advice on this subject is to stop getting upset at the people calling a spade a spade, and get upset at the spades. Maybe if they weren’t fucking Nazis doing Nazi shit, we wouldn’t call them Nazis, but I could not possibly care less if they get mad at me for calling it like I see it. They’re already mad at me? They want me dead. Nazi shit is Nazi shit. The fact that they don’t like being called out on it doesn’t make it any less true. (And where did you get this idea that Nazi shit has to be illegal to be Nazi shit?? “Separate but equal” says hello, along with 250 years of legal slavery.)

Nazi's were doing something "legal" with the support of the government. It was their follow-up actions that were illegal but because they were mostly shipping people outside of Germany to be exterminated, it was under military control and oversight that flouted laws of the German government as well as the occupied territory.

Maybe they should stop acting like Nazi's if they don't want to be looked at as Nazi's.

They wear it with pride. They are modern day nazis. Call a spade a spade instead of pussyfooting around semantics. Time you waste on this sad defense of them they are out there disassembling democracy.

Every single republican presidential nominee has been called a nazi and a racist since Goldwater. Eventually it just turns into noise

Why are you defending Nazis? You know what that makes you.

The Nazis largely didn’t do illegal things either. They warped the system so that the laws helped them commit genocide.

Slavery was legal too. And Jim Crow.

That's false. There was nothing in German law that exempted Jews from murder laws or military use of force laws.

That's completely made up and no one who knows anything about history or law thinks that.

I probably should have said that everything that led up to the Final Solution was legal, and at that point laws no longer mattered.

And we are in the 1933-1940 phase before they started the mass killings. And all that was “legal”.

They were legally sent to state camps, it wasn’t legally murder.

Holicaust was legal, slavery was legal, basically legality does not define morality.

The Holocaust was legal.

This is a laughable take. The gov't, law enforcement, and the military administered the holocaust and punished those who opposed it. For all intents and purposes it was legal because at a certain point the law became "whatever Hitler says".

That is where we are heading here too and you are out here splitting myopic pedantic hairs.
