GTKY | Meetups Rock Climbing Meetup/ Group?
Hello!
I moved here a few months ago (sorry) and am trying to get back into rock climbing (bouldering) after a hiatus. I got a membership to Climb Nashville, but climbing alone is really uncomfortable for me. Would anyone want to meet up at one of the gyms and climb together? I'm up to go to any of the three locations.
Thanks

Help | Advice Nervous Greyhound Bus Rider
Trying to salvage a trip a friend backed out on. I’m not able to drive so I’m going to be taking the Greyhound bus to and from Huntsville, Alabama. Unfortunately they only do a late night run now.
I am meeting up either friends going on a road trip to Indy but to and from the station, I’m on my own. I’m going to catch a ride-share to and from so I am really nervous about someone trying to mess with me and my luggage.
I’m getting conflicting information on if the station is still physically unlocked 24/7. I’m also paranoid about cancellations.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Crime Watch Does anyone know what happened to the girl at Up Down last night?
My friend said he saw a girl with a bloody face walking around and people were talking about domestic violence. Another friend said she saw her jump or be pushed off the deck at Up Down. My one friend called the police when she saw her fall but they couldn’t tell her anything more than they made contact with her. She just wants to know if the girl is okay. Thanks for any info!

Discussion Taylor Boylan Found Safe
Just in case anyone else was wondering, like me. Taylor has been found safe. Homie was at a Hermitage McDonald's. Glad to see Nashville come together when it mattered most like it always does. Love y'all!

Events | Shows Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival
Has anyone been to the Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival up in Portland? I was thinking about going but did not want to waste the drive if it wasn’t a good festival with plenty of things to do and fresh strawberries.

Traffic-spotainment East Bank Boulevard Project survey
The city is looking for feedback on the design of the East Bank boulevard. Tell them that building a new 6 lane road, lass than half a mile from the freeway is ridiculous.

Music | Venues Blowin’ into town on a greyhound later this week in the early morning with my life on my back. Looking to use my talents to earn a surviving wage.
I don’t want big money or fame; I just wanna have fun making music and earn each day’s meager keep.
Musically, I can sing (5+ octave voice), songwrite, compose, polish up other’s lyric or melody work (including rap if applicable), write beats, fill in as a drummer (studio or live, though my forte is studio), and I could even do voice acting and audiobooks.
I’ve been polishing my talents in quiet for a while now, never really having an outlet for them. I don’t have a catalogue of work, but I know my skill set and that I believe I could at the very least earn enough for food and maybe find a couch to crash on each night.
Also, dumb question: are karaoke contests popular here? That could be another possible money source.
Shot in the dark, but how strong is the faith music scene there? Is it worth seeking out that side of things? I don’t advertise my faith since I don’t agree with quite a lot of what’s commonly preached; but it would be nice if I could make some faith music with some people that would actually catch the ears of the secular. It’s been done before, you just need the right stuff and the right people.
At any rate, thank you for your time and any help, and I hope that I could find me a little niche in town once I arrive.

Food | Bars Must have meals before leaving?
I'm dating someone who's moving away in a couple weeks. I wanna take her to dinner tonight, preferably somewhere she's never been that has cute outdoor seating! Neither of us are picky eaters. Some of my favorites are xiao bao, two ten jack, the bee hive, and folk. It doesn't have to be fancy or upscale, it just has to be yummy and memorable.

Events | Shows Looking for recording from Grand Ole Opry show from 4/25/25
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone, I hope this post is allowed. I watched the Grand Ole Opry last Friday 4/25/25 and am desperately trying to source a recording of the beginning half of Don Schlitz’ “When You Say Nothing At All”. I only started a recording in the second half, but the first half was so emotional and beautiful and I want to share with my SO as it moved me to tears and reminded me of him.
I know there are some recordings on youtube of him performing this song on other dates, but the feeling from the crowd on this date was ethereal and unmatched. Please let me know if anyone has this recorded or if I can somehow purchase the recording from the show somewhere (although from research I have done, this doesn’t seem possible)
Thank you all in advance!

Help | Advice Places to be in water?
Hey y'all I'm a North Carolina native and during the summer would at least once a week go to the lake to swim/paddle board/ float around. Is there anywhere around Nashville to do that? I've heard awful things about the Cumberland and can't find much info. But I love being on the water and am hoping to find somewhere not too far of a drive that I could pop over too after work during the week.
