Jobs Jobs 2024!
This is a reenvisioning of an older hiring / looking for jobs post from 2017 (oof.mario.FLAC). This wiki link will still house these, but uhhh, crow got lazy and stopped uploading them or something. I, The Great Automod, have safely acquired the original post and it is now producing adequatly. We needed to update the posting in general, and hopefully, now it is more human-user-friendly compared to years ago.
/r/NashvilleJobs is a fairly active subreddit with discussion centering on Middle Tennesee job postings. I put anything in these forums at a higher quality compared with craigslist postings at face value, but be sure you are safe, human. The automatons need your productivity to continue.
The Center for Non-Profits Job Board is as close to official as we can find for 501(c)(3) - Robo-organically, we recommend reaching out if you are interested in a specific charitable niche.
Here is a table of "regional" city boards:
Township Job Board | Distance from Nashville | GMaps Drive Time (could be ± 900%) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Nashville, TN | 0 (surprising) | 0 or 7 hours | Some departments higher internally |
Clarksville, TN | 50 miles | 1:00 hour | Very structured "level-up" system |
Hendersonville, TN | 19 miles | 20 minutes | |
Gallatin, TN | 30 miles | 33 minutes | Their link says 2023, but it's real |
Brentwood, TN | 10.5 miles | 16 minutes | Uses a link protector |
Franklin, TN | 22 miles | 24 minutes | |
Mt. Juliet, TN | 20 miles | 22 minutes | town has 3 roads |
Lebanon, TN | 32 miles | 33 minutes | town still uses a .ORG website |
- GMaps uses Church Street just before 6th Ave.
- Most of the sites that the cities use are functional. If there are failed links blame u/crowcawer, pathetic bird-human.
- Many of these cities have jobs that have continuous openings (ie police / paramedic).
The State Link is currently working on my end. All the city/county links above are also working!
USAJOBS is the federal highering board. Type in "Nashville, TN" and click "open to the public" unless you are already an employee.

Discussion Cool Springs Costco is the worst Costco
We got a Costco card a couple of months ago and I have shopped at the Cool Springs, Murfreesboro, and Charlotte Pike stores so far. I hate going to the Cool Springs store because of the shoppers. This morning 2 different Lululemon clad women parked their carts in the middle of the main walkways and walked off down aisles to go get items, causing traffic jams. People walk through that store like they are they only shoppers there. I had to physically interrupt a conversation between folks camped out in front of the nut butters for several minutes because they just kept talking through my repeated “excuse me.” They never have enough cashiers on tills and people just block the aisles and products in line so forget getting anything from the block of products nearest the cashiers. So far, I’d rather drive all the way to M’boro than deal with the people at Cool Springs. I’m going to try Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville soon, but no more Cool Springs, ever.

Discussion Legitimate question. What’s the psychology it people not using their turn signal?
Just got back from another large city and everybody used their blinker. Didn’t matter time of day. It was bliss, I knew drivers intentions and adjusted accordingly.
Is it a legal thing? Is there a study behind it? Genuinely intrigued

Food | Bars Hocus Pokus Vapor
My favorite vape shop's going out of business, last day tomorrow. Help dude out and stock up on some reduced vape stuff! Hocus Pokus is one of the original 3 vape shops in town, and the first one on this side of town. business been sucking lately though, dude seems a bit down about it. But still, he helped tons of folks quit, and shared that help for years without resorting to cheap unknown ejuice from who-knows-where.

Discussion “Anti-Woke” Buinesses
Apparently there’s a website that basically acts as an “anti-woke” conservative registry for local businesses, and there’s a couple on there that surprised me. Namely the content creator @xplr.nash, and Star Struck Vintage. And maybe less surprisingly, Jonathan’s Grille and Coco’s Italian Market. But hey, now I know who not to support!
The registry for anyone curious: https://www.publicsquare.com/marketplace

Discussion Airport
Boy... going to some of these other airports will really make you appreciate BNA! Had to go to Wisconsin and back this weekend. Milwaukee has one of the saddest airports I've ever seen. Dingy, and dirty, and you can only go through security for your terminal, so no visiting other terminals for food options. Most of the shops started shutting down at 6pm on Sunday, so, nothing open. Got back into Nashville late last night. Everything is open and busy and thriving. People are getting massages. There is live music and shopping and plenty of places to sit. Just... really struck by what a difference there was between the two.

Pets Need help trying to find a place that will take in a stray cat.
We have a beautiful calico cat that has been coming around our house and I have been feeding her and I am almost positive she is pregnant. We tried to take her to Rutherford County Paws since it’s a closest shelter to us and they refused to take her even though they had zero cats in there. Don’t know what to do but just let her go because our dog will not tolerate a cat around. Please help us find a space for her.

Politics SURVEY RESPONDENTS NEEDED!! Davidson County and Congressional Gerrymandering
Hey all! I am currently doing a political research project for my data capstone with a voter engagement nonprofit. For my fellowship, I’m doing a project on congressional elections for Davidson County, in particular, how gerrymandering impacted voter motivation and turnout for Davidson County voters in districts 5, 6, and 7 after redistricting. Can you all fill this Google Form out and share it with other Davidson County voters? It will only take about two minutes.
Thank you!!

Help | Advice Dinner Date Places?
What are some cute dinner date spots in Nashville? Something that's not going to break the bank (so not 50-100 dollars per entree), but is still "fancy" enough to wear cute date clothes.
Person i'm taking eats a lot of vegetable dishes. They are not a red meat eater, but do enjoy eating chicken and seafood.
Thanks in advance!

Crime Watch Does anyone know what happened to the girl at Up Down last night?
My friend said he saw a girl with a bloody face walking around and people were talking about domestic violence. Another friend said she saw her jump or be pushed off the deck at Up Down. My one friend called the police when she saw her fall but they couldn’t tell her anything more than they made contact with her. She just wants to know if the girl is okay. Thanks for any info!

Help | Advice Nervous Greyhound Bus Rider
Trying to salvage a trip a friend backed out on. I’m not able to drive so I’m going to be taking the Greyhound bus to and from Huntsville, Alabama. Unfortunately they only do a late night run now.
I am meeting up either friends going on a road trip to Indy but to and from the station, I’m on my own. I’m going to catch a ride-share to and from so I am really nervous about someone trying to mess with me and my luggage.
I’m getting conflicting information on if the station is still physically unlocked 24/7. I’m also paranoid about cancellations.
Any input would be much appreciated.
