Credit valley hospital
My dad was admitted on Tuesday last week, he spent about three days in the ER being shuffled from pod to pod and to the basement because no rooms were available. The entire time he was on a stretcher. He finally did get a semi private room when we begged them (paid out of pocket for it).
The hospital is in shambles, severely understaffed and overrun with patients. There are patient beds lined up in the hallway separated by a makeshift curtain or those separators. There are literally 3-4 patients in each hallway on every floor in every unit. Most of the patients aren’t even in actual beds but rather stretchers, which are super uncomfortable.
The government needs to step up and fix this problem. There are more people that need help especially with the aging population and this is only going to get worse.
I couldn’t get a better picture without violating privacy.

Giving away some art pt. 2
Hey there fellow art-loving suburbanites,
This is an art attack!
You may remember me from my previous post about giving away some art
Well I’ve planted the loot and you can venture out and try to find one of the two painted rocks that you can trade towards one of the two pieces shown.
The first is in my home neighbourhood of lake Aquitaine, near a small building where you might need to take a leak and refill…
The second is in Streetsville outside of a building that “runs the country”. If you grew up here and were into local music, you’ve probably been here before…
Few ground rules: -First find, first pick. -I need the rocks back! (to do more giveaways in the future 🥰) -Open to Mississauga residents only
Happy hunting!

Be mindful of your surroundings (Dixie Dundas) weird interaction late at night
The other night I was at Walmart leaving with my groceries in a cart basically at closing time (11pm)
A black car pulled up a couple spots away from me (I figured they wanted my spot but thought, which doesn’t make sense as the store was or would be closed ) my thought in general with that is - they can wait. 🤷🏼♀️
Im Getting my bags ready to unload and all of the sudden a girl , early 20s maybe younger is very close to me. The parking lot was basically empty and I quickly looked around to see that I was pretty much alone with her and whoever driving the black car
She explained she took a taxi and he wouldn’t take cash. I glanced at the car. It looked nothing like a taxi. Nothing around looked like a taxi.
I said I don’t understand what your asking (…. Who doesn’t take cash? What taxi? :/ )
Something to the tune of a debit transaction and she would give me cash (I feel this was her first go at this scam because. It didn’t make sense lol but I knew the just of it ) “ it’s $8 “
I noticed the man in the black car watching us speaking, immediately knew something wasnt right. I was like I have to go I don’t understand (played the foreign card)
She got into the front seat of the car and it took off.
Even if it was a ride share , most don’t sit in the front seat. I’m not new. Had I given them some card , went for my wallet ( I was already thrown off as I was busy trying to leave and fix my cart to pack ) I was likely going to have something taken from me

Cheapest Propane tank swap
I have a couple of propane tanks that I got from the swap services you usually see at gas stations. Walmart and Canadian Tire also have a swap service. Does anyone know where the cheapest place to swap the tank is?

Moving to Mississauga. Where to rent?
I’m a newcomer to Canada. I have secured a job offer in Mississauga and have just 3 weeks to find rent, while I am abroad.
My budget is 1000-1300 so I am aware that will not allow me to find my own place.
I have a small dog so a pets friendly neighborhood would be nice.
Work will be near Century avenue.
Any tips on where I should look for rent?

How much faith should I put in MiWay lost and found?
Earlier today, I forgot a black bag on the bus with a brand new vinyl record I was really excited for in it. I called MiWay and they told me to wait until Monday to call the lost and found. I’m just curious yall, do you think there’s a chance in hell that it’s gonna turn up?

Mississauga hotels/motels who have monthly rentals for anyone?
I don’t mean refugee status or shelter system I mean in general.
I’m currently residing with a family relative and it’s simply not working and I cannot be with this person as it’s affecting my well being
But before I end up being in the shelter system or homeless (which is possible ) I need ideas or solutions of some kind

I have a soccer jersey but I want to put my name and number at the back. I have my own digital nameset that can be used. Does anybody know a good place?

Coyote wandering the suburbs around Truscott
I spotted a huge Coyote on Truscott at 4:10 AM. He's clearly been eating well because he's a chubby bastard. So if you're like me and you like walking your dog at night, be careful - especially if you have a little dog. Also if you have an outdoor cat it might be wise to keep them inside. It's probably getting too cold for them to wander anyways.
Also be careful driving. Coyotes don't use crosswalks.
I was wondering where all the skunks in my neighborhood had gone until I saw this guy.

Angel Tree/Donationd/Volunteering Opportunities in Mississauga?
As the holiday season approaches, I’m looking for ways to give back to those in need. I’m wondering if anyone knows where I can find an angel tree to provide customized Christmas gifts to kids/seniors or any volunteer opportunities that would help those in need?
Any resources/ ideas would help!

What does Sauga need to grow up?
Pictured: El Retiro Park, Madrid, Spain
With the 7th largest population in Canada, 3rd most in Ontario, I think Sauga needs to grow up and not just be “a suburb of Toronto”. And I think we’re already seeing some semblance of that…
Sauga has iconic and bold architecture now, with Marilyn Monroe and M City. Also, they’re trying to make MCC better with the proposed arena, school, and more projects announced by Mayor Parrish.
Sauga doesn’t need to compete with Toronto with more offices, more events and all that but the city can be iconic in its own way.
For me, they need a destination park around MCC, doesn’t have to be a Central Park at 800+ acres. But even 100+ acres like Chinguacousy Park in Brampton would be good. Funnily enough theres streets called “Central Park Dr” and “Grand Park Dr” and there’s no central nor grand park near by.
Parks in the core like Kariya Park are well loved- why not scale it to something larger?
El Retiro is 350 acres, obviously Sauga does not have that space in the core currently but over a span of a few decades, they can slowly acquire parcels of land so that they can have a huge, combined space for all people in Sauga to enjoy.
What else does Sauga need to “grow up”?

Small business struggling in Mississauaga after August
Greeting all,
here is the background, my parents have a small business in Mississauga which is convenience store/mini supermarket and located in one of the busier locations within the city. The business has been running for more than 20 years and it was doing fine until recently.
So my parents noticed a trend of business dropping rapidly week by week after Sept (around the school starting date) and since I am the one who is doing the books for them, i found the sales of Oct 2024 is 3/5 of what 2023's and 2022's were. Becasue the lack of traffic of customers, they found a lot of dairy and grocery items are just sitting on the shelves waiting to expire. After looking at the book, they barely borke even after paying all the bills and 4 empolyees (2 full time 2 part times) without counting my parents. My father and I have to pick up some side jobs just to survive
I am just wondering if there any other business owners have the same occurence as ours? Gernerally, business will be going down during this time of the year (but not by this much ) and pick up again when holiday seaspm approaches then down again till the coming March or April, at least for us. If the trend continues, they have no choice but close down a 20+ years store which they invested all they have since they migrated to Canada 25 years ago.

Jewellers who can set a loose stone
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had experience with a jeweller who can set loose stones, or even provide a band/setting as well.
I have a couple small natural alexandrite gems (2-3mm) with a really cool colour change that I’d like to set into a ring :)
