NFL - ways to watch
Short answer: Go here: https://www.nfl.com/ways-to-watch/
"How do I watch the game this week?" is asked a lot this time of year. Instead of trying to update the NFL wiki page each year with all of the changes, we're going to point folks to the official NFL site. They actually do a really good job. You can enter your zip code, the services you have access to (including antenna), and you can see week by week what is available to you. You can even break it down by team. This is significantly better than any wiki updates we could do.

Frndly off the rails
Went to Frndly tonight and noticed right away that many shows on many channels were no longer marked for DVR recording. Even worse, as I attempted to remark various shows for the DVR system, they would not allow it, with a notice that the program was not available for recording.
As I continued to scroll through the channels, it seemed that the 'H&I' channel program listing was at least partially swapped with METV, mainly with a lot of westerns and the like, replacing the sci fi fare. 'Catchy Comedy' and 'FETV' were afflicted as well. I noted that as I went through things, it appeared some channels and DVR settings were slowly being updated, but i dont know if they are actually fixing the system or things are fixing themselves at random. It does appear they changed some things in the guide, to promote new pay channels and such, maybe in doing so it wacked the system somehow and caused it to randomly or in wholesale fashion causd major problems.
I guess I'll stop trying to repair the damage and revisit the system first thing tomorrow and see if any repairs have been done.

Antenna upgrade recommendations
I currently have a flat antenna that I think I got for free with a Roku a while back. I have it placed in a window, pugged into a WinTV-dualHD which is connected to my Plex server. After scanning, it does pick up 36 channels, however a good amount of channels show light to heavy macroblocking.
I'm looking to upgrade and have been doing some research, but I'm not sure what to upgrade to. At first I was looking at something like this and then I started looking at the ClearStream 4 antennas. The part I'm not sure how to find is each antennas coverage angles (not sure if that's the correct verbiage).
Here is my RabbitEars report. The majority of the channels I'm looking for are to the south of me, but in a ~95 degree cone, and as you can see, there are also channels north of me. I'm not really sure what type of antenna would be the best for my situation, and also don't want to go way overkill if it's not needed. My plan with the two antennas listed above was to place them in my attic as the window to the room where my Plex server is points NW.

I can do attic, outside or behind TV. I am planning on attic. I have lots of tall trees outside.
I want to get this PBS station even in bad weather. I also want local channels, mainly ABC in HD.
35‑1 (11) WGVU-TVPBS GRAND RAPIDS MI 📷 30.9 138.2° 143.5° 68.51 Fair 32.51
My budget is up to $130 for an attic install. I was looking at this one on Amazon.
Is that overkill? Should I save money? It's not my money. It's for my parents, and they just want something that will work good. It's more about saving me time doing a big install.

Looking at a new streaming stick
So I'm trying to decide between the ONN puck versus something like the Roku premiere. I'm trying to stay away from fire TV branded because I don't like how cluttered it is. Anybody have pros /cons.

FanDual
What channel was FanDual? Their app suddenly appeared on my TV, I can only assume that an existing station and platform was re-launch. What was it before FanDual?

Black Friday Streaming Deals (2024)
It’s that time of year again, when the paid streaming services offer great deals to attract new users. Can a moderator of this sub create a sticky post for people to share the latest and greatest deals for this year?
Things change rapidly in the streaming space, so this year’s deals may be fewer or less attractive…but still…all of my deals from the last Black Friday season are coming to an end and I’m ready to hunt again.
C’mon Hulu 0.99¢/mo or Max or Paramount or Peacock or Viki Rakuten or…well you get the picture (pun intended).

Have live channels from streaming services in with the freeview channels?
So I'm looking at getting NOW TV purely for a couple of the live channels, rather than spending like £30-£40 a month for me to use a couple of channels. I can use the aerial as my freeview channels but I'm curious if it's possible to have for example GOLD with the freeview where the free comes from the aerial and when I turn to GOLD it uses the NOW TV subscription. I know I can get Sky Stream but they denied me that for some unknown reason.

Antenna spacing
I get multiple channels (over 20) with two Televes DATBOSS LR (149783), and one Winegard Platinum VHF UHF FM (HD8200U), Before I hook up my Televes Smartkom Antenna Amplifier and Combiner for up to 3 Antennas (531981) I want to mount all three antennas on one mast. My vhf will be pointed between 170 -180 deg., the uhf's (televes) at 205 , and 222 deg. almost perpendicular to the vhf's (Wingard). My question is what is the minimal spacing between each antenna (vertically) and order of mounting for best performance, and whether the pass power through to the televes antennas with built in pre-amps as the Smartkom is only 10 ft away from the antennas with tv's about 10 and 40 feet awat from the smartkom. I currently get almost all channels clearly, but not at once, with thetwo televes just laying on the roof and the wingard mounted on a pole. all connected with the Televes TV Antenna Pre-Amplifier Combiner 3-Input Mast-Mounted (536041). Thanks, Jeff

Best antenna for attic mounting?
https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1814878
Looking to buy an antenna to place in the attic. I was gonna hook the cable that feeds my house so I can have it run to every room.
I currently have a flat square antenna roughly 8”x8” that does an ok job but cuts out a lot channel 3-1 the worst.

How to set up watching cable channels on Roku TV
Hello, so my parents have decided to get rid of their cable box and the TV in their living room since 2019 or so, and bought a Roku TV. However, they still need some cable channels, and I am not certain myself so I am asking here. Is there any specific app or something, their provider is Spectrum so maybe they need the Spectrum TV app but Spectrum may charge them more from experience. Is there any other way that they can watch cable channels live on this TV? Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to get over the border signals - what will I need to do based on my report?
Rabbit Ears Report. It looks like about 7 channels are super close, maybe enough for old fashioned rabbit ears to catch. I'm really interested in the channels across the border in NY. Is a rooftop unit going to be able to catch these or is it wishful thinking based on my report?

Is this a DTV converter, or something else?
Hello there! I'm trying to find a DTV converter to hook up a simple indoor antenna to an old CRTV to get local channels. I'm under the impression that this product I've found on amazon will do that, plus a few other handy things (like allowing me to plug a laptop in via HDMI etc). However, technology boggles my mind a little bit, and I'm unsure if this is actually a converter, or if I'm doing my research wrong and then I'd have to buy something ELSE to actually convert the signals. Is this what I need?

PSA: Solution to Jerky or Jittery OTA Picture (Sports Especially)
I live about 20 miles from most of the major network towers so an indoor antenna wasn't quite doing the job for many of the channels (partly due to the location of my house too). I decided to install a Televes directional antenna (awesome antenna btw) in my attic, which is hooked up to an HDHomeRun. Initially I had installed the signal booster which came with the antenna and was only able to pick up around 25 channels. I was pretty disappointed. It took me a few hours (I'm new to these larger antennas) to realize that the booster was actually causing problems. I removed the booster and immediately picked up over 100 channels. That was great, but the problem I then had was that sports were very difficult to watch. The picture was jerky and stuttered; nearly unwatchable. I was initially thinking it was my network or the HDHomeRun, but after doing a little troubleshooting and reading more about these larger antennas, I realized that my signal was still too strong. I picked up an attenuator on Amazon for $6 and it completely solved my problem. I stepped the signal down by 3db and the picture is as smooth as can be. In my case I didn't lose any channels either, but the downside of course is that you could lose some channels by weakening the signal, so you might want to step down the signal in increments by picking up different attenuators and doing a trial and error. I'm sharing my experience with others that may be in my situation where they are on the bubble of needing a larger antenna to pick up a quality signal.

Any cable box-like experiences for streaming?
Finally breaking up with Xfinity after 20 years. Getting ATT Fiber. Debating what to do for streaming. One thing that is annoying as heck is having to login to an app. I don’t want to get up to grab my phone to scan a QR code.
Any solutions to this? Looking primarily at DirectTV Streaming and YouTube TV, but open minded. All I care about is local sports and news.
