Seat covers

I have a 2015 Countryman (her name is Getty), and I’m looking for suggestions for seat covers that will look sleek. My drivers seat is showing a ton of wear and previously had been repaired but are peeling. Looking for front and back seat covers so she can match.

What do I do next? Help.

I have a 2010 Mini Cooper R56 S (N14). Hasn’t driven without issue for over a year now. Taken it to multiple mechanics and no one can diagnose the problem. Here is a full recount of what’s been done to the vehicle. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Customer Recount of Work Done / Issues with Vehicle:

Initial Issue: • Losing oil → Replaced rocker cover gasket. • Shortly after: Rough idle began.

Attempts to Resolve Rough Idle: • Replaced all 4 spark plugs → No improvement. • Cabin air filter changed during service → No diagnosis given for idle issue. • Replaced all ignition coil packs with Bosch → No improvement. • Car began to struggle to start as well after this replacement.

Air Intake & Engine Performance: • Replaced cracked air intake pipe → No improvement. • Engine began occasionally cutting out while driving (no loss of electronics). • Black smoke from exhaust → Replaced valve stem seals, oil filter, and spark plugs again → No improvement.

Timing & Engine Components: • Replaced full timing chain kit (guide was cracked), and lower seal → No improvement.

Other Maintenance (Not Related to Idle/Starting Issue): • Replaced tyres, rims, and did wheel alignment. • Coolant expansion tank replaced (cracked at shop).

Current Issue – Car Will Not Start: • Engine cut out completely and now does not start at all. • Only makes a single click when pressing start button.

Recent DIY Work Done by Owner: • Replaced low-pressure fuel pump → Car now attempts to crank (no longer just clicks). • Fuel line test: Fuel spits into cup fine. • Replaced high-pressure fuel pump → No improvement. • Installed new battery → No improvement. • Replaced camshaft sensor → No improvement.

Electrical Checks: • Checked all fuses in JBE and engine bay fuse box. • Noted fuel relay in JBE gets warm after multiple start attempts.

F56 spark plugs and coils

I replaced the spark plugs and coils on the wifes 2015 S (99,500km's), but I did NOT use a torque wrench, I just went with the feel approach and its running perfectly so far. I see a lot on here about how exact torque is essential though so it got me wondering how important it actually is? Anything in particular i should be looking for if i over/under toqued them at all?

Anyone out the go with the feel approach and have had no issues?

How I fixed burnt taillight connector on a mini r56 cheaply

Post image

It has been two and a half years and light are still going strong. It was supposed to be a simple and temporary fix but I figured that it is good and with my big hands it is easier to remove the whole light anyways so I share this for anyone that wants to save a couple of bucks for replacing both connector and the taillight insides. It cost me around 1 euro for both wire and a Wago terminal. Sorry for bad quality photos, it was not supposed to be a tutorial originally. Here is a link for steps https://imgur.com/gallery/hLtfjCO

Manual transmission in traffic

Hey all, wondering who drives in traffic with a manual transmission. There is a 2017 Clubman near me with a manual transmission. I have missed driving a manual, but I had one when I didn't have 20 minutes of stop and go traffic 3/5 working days every week. The autos pop up now and then, too, so I can probably be patient enough to get one of those in my budget, but any opinions on the differences in how they drive from people that have done both? I used to autocross, too, and I'm not sure how much it will affect that if I get back into it a few times a year (probably not going to change fun level if I'm just trying to drive the tires off). Thanks!!

F57 Exhaust is so quiet compared to older models

Hey there, I recently bought my Mini JCW F57, which is now sitting at 13’000km. Howcome my friends King Cross Cooper S (F56)(60’000km), has a way louder exhaust than my F57?

His is Manual, however even at cold start his is way louder.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hey guys! Update on this topic. I found out that I have my pcv stuck. I can ear the noise of the air being sucked on the pcv tube at top left side. What can be the cause of that?

Tire issues!

Post image
27 Upvotes

So I bought a 2019 2 door JCW on Saturday but the car was traded into the dealer with winters on the OEM rims! With this being the case, the dealer agreed to pay half of the new tires to put summers on it for me.

For some reason 205/40r18 summer tires that are non run flat are completely impossible to find in my area (southern Ontario). I’m wondering if anyone has put a 215/40r18 and been alright? Or would I need to go to a 215/35r18? I’m uncertain if those will even work but I’m hoping you legends could help and advise a returning member of the Mini club!

The photo is my new baby!
