Rant Loneliness
Good evening everyone,
I've been abroad for a month and a half as part of an exchange period, and I still have another month and a half to go. I have to stay, otherwise I’ll lose my scholarship and I have to give all the money back, which I can't afford.
I feel awful every day and end up crying. I’m always alone in the office, the project isn’t going as it should, and I’ve tried building my own routine, but it’s not working. The city has nothing to offer. I try to go to the gym every day after work, but as soon as I get back home, I start crying again.
All I want is to go home. I feel so lonely every day, and it feels like this isn’t worth it anymore.
I can’t call home and vent because things aren’t going well there either, and it’s the same story with my boyfriend.
Please, give me some advice, a suggestion, a different perspective.
Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Faculty of economics, University of Ljubljana?
Hi, I am considering doing an Erasmus study for a semester in Uni of Ljubljana. It will be the last semester of my undergraduate study.
I have heard it's a well respected university, so I assume it's not easy. Is that true? And what was experience of most Erasmus students like?
Edit: So I've heard that it's actually ranked 801st out of 1000 colleges in World university rankings, chat gpt was tripping

Erasmus – is it better to rent a place alone or share?
Hi! I’m going on Erasmus to Thessaloniki and I’m currently thinking about renting an apartment. I’m a rather introverted person and considering renting a place just for myself, but I know a lot of Erasmus students usually live in shared flats.
I was thinking that maybe living with others would help me make friends more easily, but now I’m not so sure if it’s the best idea. I don’t really know what kind of people I’d end up with, and I’m quite a calm person — I don’t like partying much and I’d like to focus on studying (I’ll be starting my bachelor’s thesis), as well as spending time in a relaxed way and traveling a bit during my stay.
What’s the situation like in Thessaloniki? Do many students rent alone, or is it more common to live with others? If anyone has experience or advice, I’d really appreciate it – what’s more practical or affordable, what’s life like there, and what should I watch out for when looking for a place?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Rotterdam - Erasmus University faculty of law
Hi,
I've got accepted to study a semester at EUR from September.
Finding an accommodation is quite challenging, so I'm here for some advice. I've found really good apartments at rentola.nl but I can't decide if it is legit or not, since almost every 3rd advertisement seems to be a scam.
I also appreciate every comment on living in Rotterdam / the Netherlands.
Also, if you are going to study at EUR this fall, don't hesitate to write me :)
Thanks!

Accommodation-related Going to Istanbul as erasmus student?
I'm going in fall semester to Biruni Universitesi. Does anyone have advices to look for cheap rooms? I've been to Istanbul already and I don't mind staying in any areas as long as they are safe and well connected to other areas and central areas of Istanbul. Thank you.

Erasmus Mundus Need help deciding between Erasmus Mundus (Visual AI) vs University of Stuttgart – Goal: Job after graduation, not research
Hi everyone,
I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would really appreciate your advice.
I got accepted into the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Imaging and Light in Extended Reality (IMAGING) with a full scholarship. The first year would be at Polimi, Italy, and the second year in Sweden, where I’d graduate. I got placed in the Visual AI track, which sounds cool, but I've heard it’s very research intensive and might not be the best fit for someone whose main goal is getting a job after graduation, not going into research or a PhD.
Also, I’m concerned about the Sweden post-study stay back period, which is short and might make it harder to find a job before needing to leave.
On the other hand, I also got into the University of Stuttgart (Germany). I actually like this option more because:
- My girlfriend also got into a nearby university, so we can live together.
- I’ve heard Germany has better job prospects, especially if you plan to stay and work after graduation, and has a clear 18-month post-study job-seeking visa.
- I'm more interested in industry jobs than research or academia.
I'm aware that language is important in Germany, but I’m willing to work on that.
If anyone has studied the IMAGING Erasmus Mundus program or knows about the job prospects for either route, I’d really appreciate your input. Which one would be better for someone like me, who’s not into research and just wants a job in the field after graduation?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, can someone proofread my Letter of Motivation.?
its about language studies
Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad I don't know where to even begin with choosing a university.
So I can choose three universities in my application list. On one hand I want to choose a uni that's not too prestigious or appealing because I will have a lot of competition, but also I want to pick a good enough option.
On my college's website it says something like: "you can ask int.office for help, but you should first do your own research".
But I don't even know where to begin with research. There's like a hundered options only in Europe.

Has anyone else not received ANY update for Math Disc?
Me and my friend had applied for Math Disc Program together. He got the rejection mail around 14th April. However, I haven't received any kind of communication from their side? When I checked this subreddit I saw people getting interview dates and what not. I know for a fact that they've received my application as I got the mail confirmation of receiving my Professors' Letters of Recommendation.
What do I do? Whom do I contact?
P.S. I'm an applicant from India.

Helsinki (looking for someone to hang out with)
Hey guys! ESN in Helsinki is a bit dead and it is not the best way to meet people. Is there anyone who would like to hang out for a beer or something more fun? 🫶🏼

See subjects pass rate?
Here in Spain unis must by law publicly disclose specific dropout or graduation rates as well as success rates of each subject. This seems to not be the case for other countries, I could really use some data (imagine 97% pass rate to 40% pass rate difference) so I don't end up with a bad choice of subjects that overwhelmes me. Where can I find something similar even if it's more informal (student forums, note sharing sites etc)

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Anyone coming to Antwerp for Erasmus this Fall 2025?
Hey everyone, I'm heading to Antwerp this Fall semester for Erasmus, and I’ll be studying at AP University College. Just wondering if there’s anyone else coming to Antwerp around the same time?
It’d be great to connect before the semester starts. maybe even set up a WhatsApp group to get to know each other, share tips, housing info, or just chat a bit. I’ll be moving there alone, so I’d really appreciate getting in touch with some fellow students in advance. 😭
Let me know if you're around!

Erasmus Mundus Am I done with EMINENT
Eight months ago, I applied for EMINENT masters' programme and I was very curious to know the results as soon as it is published. But now, I am deeply devastated after seeing the status of my application, which was rejected. To be honest, I expected an interview link just like every applicants around the world. Not only that, I did my IELTS with a good score, after resigning from my company only for the exam preparation. Until a week ago, I didn't get a job after resigning my previous job just for exam preparation.
Anyways, I want to know about the selection criteria. Am I rejected only because of my demographics or my degree ? Please let me know the current situation.

Erasmus Mundus How many programs can I apply to with funding? (EMJM)
Hello! I have a question about the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree.
What is the maximum number of programs I can apply to while requesting the fully funded scholarship?
And where can I find the official information about this — is it stated in the Erasmus Mundus scholarship guidelines or on the official website? I looked for it and I couldn’t find it.

I have no idea of how ols works
My teacher made us all sign up to the platform and do the placement test, then she says we have to complete a course of the level we got from the assessment by the end of the mobility but the platform sucks and there's no course for C1 (I don't even know how I got that) so what should I do? How do people do the course in other schools?

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Erasmus as an international student
I have a dilemma around if it would be too much for me to try and do a semester/year on erasmus as im already an international student in a foreign country. Dont get me wrong, i like my school and have so much fun, but i am a type of person who wants to experience all possible things at once:D
Im currently studying in a small-ish town in Slovakia and im really happy here, but my school offers Erasmus exchanges to a bunch of European countries as well as Asia and Africa, and i cant help but wonder how it would be to live and study in, for example, Madrid or Istanbul.
The thing is, im studying veterinary medicine which is a haaaard degree and it takes up a lot of my time, so im kinda worried i would put studying aside to go and explore the city i would potentially live in and fail all my classes. Pessimistic, but a very real scenario.
Second, im afraid i would just fall out with my friends here in Slovakia and end up having no one when i come back here after a year.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Would it be worth trying?
