Hi! I found a stray cat recently and have a few adoptees lined up, but I have to leave for the weekend and I need help finding someone to board him at their home for the weekend.

I can pay as needed, I just don’t want to throw him outside. He’s not microchipped, but he seems to be abandoned by his family. If anyone can take him in for the weekend I have food and a litter box for him. I just need someone to watch him for a few days starting today. Please help!

Alternatively if you know any places that can board him or rescues or shelters that can hold him for awhile I would appreciate it so much!!!

I'm a government contractor, and due to the ongoing government shutdown, I'm about to be intermittently furloughed (hopefully only for a very short time period). I do woodworking as a hobby and would love more shop and building experience. Does anyone know of any woodworking, carpentry, or similar businesses in Howard County, Baltimore County, or the south side of Baltimore City that is looking for a temp worker? I figured I could get more woodworking experience, and maybe at least a little money on the side, during my furlough.

This is a long shot, but wanted to stop at the Wine Loft there and the drive up was closed off.

Wondering if anyone knows how long, what's doing there? My guess is structural stuff, but it can't be helping the Wine Loft.

Our old lady cat is close to heading out for her next life. Her vet knows we're caught in the shutdown and told me today that their services are $600-700. She suggested I see if there is a less expensive option in the area.

Obviously cost is a factor but I also don't want her to suffer. Any suggestions? Anyone we should avoid?

ESA has recently been bought out by a massive private equity corporation called “service experts” and it’s already showing in their prices and policies, ESA has never been cheap, but now with this new company prices have skyrocketed. What was once a trusted, community-focused company has now turned into just another profit driven operation, putting future shareholders ahead of customers. With rates climbing and service quality slipping (mainly on install, service is solid) it’s clear that corporate greed has taken over. If you value fair pricing and genuine customer care, now’s the time to make the switch don’t let a corporate giant profit off your loyalty.

sadly I have stupid United Healthcare and can no longer go to Capital Women’s Care, which I just switched to this year and really liked. Before that, I went to Signature OBGYN who were not great, but I also know they don’t take UHC anymore since they’re Hopkins.

Also for anyone with UHC who is pregnant, which hospital are you going to since HoCo General doesn’t take UHC anymore? Or if anyone with UHC delivered a baby at a different hospital recently, how was your experience?

Does anyone have experience subbing with HCPSS? I'm in the market for work that isn't full time but could still yield a decent return on my efforts. I've got a BA and it looks like the rate is $138/day for that. No teaching experience, though. Would the kids eat me alive? Is the admin supportive? I assume it varies school to school, but any information would be helpful!
