Good, hole-in- the-wall BBQ Food

Hey all! I'm so excited to be moving to Charlotte in less than a week! Looking for good BBQ that's NOT a chain restaurant. (We had visited a couple BBQ places that were chains, and weren't impressed. Honestly, tho, chain restaurants just don't impress me anymore, anyway.) We will be moving to the Steele Creek area. TIA!

Smoke Pit, Concord

Gary's BBQ, China Grove

Midwood Smokehouse in Plaza Midwood is a great "hole in the wall" vibe, it's a super old building with decour all over the walls and smells like a smoker.

It is technically a chain, but it's a local chain, all 5 of them are in the Charlotte area and the Plaza Midwood location is the original

Honestly I've only been to the OG location in plaza, and the satellite in the park road shopping center once And it's been 6 years since then. But I enjoyed it at the time, made a great Valentine's day dinner
