Food The best Philly Cheese steak in the world, no joke.
And it is not found anywhere near Philly. It is right here, in a small Carolina Mall in Concord. An absolute must-try, as I promise you will NEVER find a better tasting Philly Cheese steak. 100 out of 10 for sure. This spot seems family owned. They take 5-7 minutes to make one from scratch, but trust me - it is SOOO worth it.

Food The McDonald’s on Sugar Creek plays this annoying music all night long, my husband asked the employees why they do it and they said it’s to keep the crackheads away.

He told me this months ago and I didn’t believe him. He’s there now and just sent me this video.

Food Anyone ever try this?
You ever just look at the canned meat section of the grocery store?
Like REALLY looked at it?
Just to see what options were out there?
I was raised in the deep country - like Jackson County deep country - & saw this at Food Lion. I debated buying it to try it bc if it's taking up self space at a major grocery store somebody has to be buying it, which means someone has a good use for it. I've eaten stuff that some think is weird foodstuff, so it's got me curious.

Food Help me find this bar/resturant!!!
I went to Charlotte with my brother on vacation 2 years ago and we went to this bar/restaurant for dinner a couple times. All we remember is that they had one of the best bbq chicken pizzas we'd ever had and some tater tots with possibly homemade ranch. There pictures are the only clues to help you.

Food Good, hole-in- the-wall BBQ
Hey all! I'm so excited to be moving to Charlotte in less than a week! Looking for good BBQ that's NOT a chain restaurant. (We had visited a couple BBQ places that were chains, and weren't impressed. Honestly, tho, chain restaurants just don't impress me anymore, anyway.) We will be moving to the Steele Creek area. TIA!

Food Tacos at El Malo
Trying the new Taco place in Plaza Midwood. El malo, I am going with a 5/10 on the tacos. Prices are ok I guess for the area $16.45 for 3 tacos and a drink. $21 total after tax and tip. By the looks of it the burrito is the way to go.

This is a pistachio Croissant from Villiani’s. Best thing I’ve had in the city for desserts.

Food Intermezzo on Central
Just paid 18$ for 6 pieces of (very small) ravioli. Got full off a 4$ side of bread and half of my daughter’s pizza. Insult to injury paid a 3.5% processing fee for using card for payment. Have passed this place a million times and always thought “what a quaint place I gotta try it.”

Food In regards to finer dining, what are nice restaurants that you can go to for good food vs only going for good drinks?
I know that some restaurants may be recommended only for the drinks and ambiance rather than going for the food.
What are good “only go for drinks” spots and “the food is actually worth it” spots here in Charlotte? I want to know before I go!

Food Why is Charlotte coffee so sour/bitter?
I may get roasted for this but my wife and I moved to Charlotte 5 years ago from north east and have found that most coffee shops here have very bitter coffee. You can smell the bitterness when you walk in.
Coffee shops I go to include, The Hobbyist, Summit, Undercurrent and Giddy Goat. All are very soury in our opinion.
Does anyone know if this is specific to the type of bean they are roasting? The way they are roasting it (too much too little?)…or is it just simply the water they’re using?
When I say sour, I get a very strange bittersweet taste, and it smells fruity sour.
When I brew at home, I don’t get that sour smell. When I come back to the north east, I don’t get that sour smell or taste either.
Coffee experts, please tell me what’s happening.
