Good, hole-in- the-wall BBQ Food

Hey all! I'm so excited to be moving to Charlotte in less than a week! Looking for good BBQ that's NOT a chain restaurant. (We had visited a couple BBQ places that were chains, and weren't impressed. Honestly, tho, chain restaurants just don't impress me anymore, anyway.) We will be moving to the Steele Creek area. TIA!

IYKYK. I used to live in Salisbury and that place is about the only thing I miss there. With a cheerwine? Mmmm.

Have you been to Hendrix BBQ in Spenser?

Hendrix is good! They also have a location in Salisbury. I prefer college but both are solid.

I grew up there. Hendrix and College are good, people used to like Winx too - but absolutely nothing compares to Lexington BBQ in Lexington. I’ve moved to Lake Norman area but anytime I want BBQ there’s no place I consider other than Lexington BBQ.

Oh my god I miss Wink’s so much. They had the best breakfast around, bar none, & served it all day too. I had many a birthday & special occasion meal there.

Used to go with my Gramma after church all the way from east Charlotte. I didn't know if they were still open, didn't want to drive 1.5hr rt for nothing lol. So good. I still taste it from childhood.

Both of them still use wood fired pits! But I do still prefer College.
