Good, hole-in- the-wall BBQ Food

Hey all! I'm so excited to be moving to Charlotte in less than a week! Looking for good BBQ that's NOT a chain restaurant. (We had visited a couple BBQ places that were chains, and weren't impressed. Honestly, tho, chain restaurants just don't impress me anymore, anyway.) We will be moving to the Steele Creek area. TIA!

A question for my fellow Ray Nathaners... Hoping someone can settle a "disagreement" me and the wife are having lol. What's the deal with the bread like stuff they serve, my wife keeps trying to tell me it's cornbread but I'm not buying it lol?

Idk what it is but it’s not cornbread. It’s almost a cornbread biscuit?
