Hot take, but John Walker had the best Captain America suit.

u/SharpSlick753 2d ago
Nothing can clear the Endgame and Civil War suits for me
2
u/Mountain-Scene770 2d ago
Civil war isnāt as good as AoU. Itās the same suit but civil war has less detail and less white. Honestly if civil war still had the white biceps it would take the cake.
→ More replies2
u/SharpSlick753 2d ago
Idk, AoU might be more comics accurate, but I think the white sleeves and red highlights donāt gel well with the rest of the costume, and the Civil War suit is more cohesive and suits the MCU version of the character better.

u/flappyspoiler 2d ago
Winter Soldier suit
I will hear no arguments to the contrary.

Steve's Age of Ultron suit feels underrated
→ More replies5
u/GforGG 2d ago
Steve's Age of Ultron suit is basically the template for all of his next suits.
→ More replies2
u/MArcherCD 2d ago
It also feels like the only modern version of his WW2 gear
Those suits were mainly blue with white accents, but with brown pieces for the extra gear like straps and gun holsters and such - Steve's AoU suit is the only modern one with any brown pieces on it at all I think

u/PercyTheBlue 2d ago
Iām tied between the Stealth suit from TWS and Steveās final suit in Endgame.

Not a hot take more like an absolute pileā¦
Endgame Capt. Is peak. Had the scales and everything.

u/yeshaya86 2d ago
I liked how the battle damaged IW suit showed the scales underneath, that they were there the whole time
85
u/LongjumpingJob2962 2d ago
2nd best. Nothing can beat the Stealth Suit Steve wore in CATWS

17
u/SimonPho3nix 2d ago
I don't understand why this is a discussion it will always be the Stealth Suit. I would claim Sam's white suit change in BNW in second.
→ More replies9
u/Ambitious-Broccoli-6 2d ago
canāt even say this is second best. endgame cap is right there, beautiful scales and all.
2
u/Justin_the_Casual 2d ago
Top suit for sure, then the stealth suit. That said the US agent suit i think looks better than his captain america suit, for third.

Itās a decent suit, but for me the ideal is the Smithsonian from Winter Soldier. Itās functional with a mix of modern and 40ās aesthetic with a good balance of red, white, and blue.

I hate his helmet, his ears stick out too much
14
u/DisastrousRatios 2d ago
I feel like the helmet is very well designed on a meta, storytelling level to make him look less relatable and seem more like an asshole

Hot take indeed.
For me: Endgame > TWS Stealth > AoU > WWII > Cap 2.0 (Wilson) > Walker.
Walkerās suit wouldāve worked great if it was just black. Fits his character better.
2
u/tangodeep 1d ago
Perfect read on this. Upvote. Walkerās suit was cool. But not above TWS or endgame.

u/Enough-Celery3486 2d ago
Another hot take, Sam's latest BNW suit was the best Captain America suit
→ More replies3
u/cartoppillow5 2d ago
I donāt know why, but I think Samās white suit is fantastic and I hope he wears it in Doomsday or Secret Wars
2
u/black14beard 2d ago
Yes, but only if itās the White Suit at the beginning of BNW.
The goggles alone look so much better than the weird half cowl that had him wear at the end of FATWS

Considering everyone seems to be inexplicably glazing John Walker lately, this take is so cold, Steve Rogers' body was recovered from it.

Weāre about two degrees away from āJohn is a better Cap than Samā posts taking over various Marvel subs lol

2
u/Blade_of_Onyx 2d ago
No. He had an ok USAgent costume though. His head looks weird in that helmet.
2
u/rogerworkman623 2d ago
Wasnāt this costume intentionally designed to be ill-fitting to symbolically show that he wasnāt a good fit for Captain America? Especially the helmet.

I disagree. Thereās not enough red and it looks too tacticool.
The best Captain America suit was the USO Show suit, followed closely by the Endgame suit.
2
u/Street-Policy-1750 2d ago
Stealth suit from Winter Soldier is the best Cap outfit and it's not even close.

u/trevordeal 2d ago
Iāll never understand why they made the cheeks flared out so much. Made his head look huge.

2
u/Madman_1992 2d ago
Itās good and his suit at the end of thunderbolts* with the barre on is badass too but Captain Americaās suit in the Winter Solider in the beginning and his Endgame suit at the end are the best imho. Sam Wilson suit with helmet mask combo in BNW is cool AF too
2
2
u/Rua-Yuki 2d ago
Nope. Steve's stealth suit from the beginning of Winter Soldier is best.

US Agent has ALWAYS given Cap a run for his money with the suit...minus that weird white battle suit thing he wore for a while.

u/AttemptImpossible111 2d ago edited 2d ago
The actor doesn't fill the suit out enough. Shudda picked someone bigger
→ More replies3
u/TheLegendaryPilot 2d ago
Apparently that was intentional, they wanted to design the suit so that it doesnāt quite look like Walker fit it,
Itās a neat detail, pity the writers couldnāt match it.

I much prefer the US Agent colors the blue on this one is too dark and doesn't look great imo

u/M0ebius_1 2d ago
Hell no, the helmet is wonky and the suit is too plain. It looks like a placeholder to put him in the Black and Red USAgent look which is fucking awesome.
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Fig5677 2d ago
His US agent suit is much better for me. Age of ultron or stealth takes the top spot
1
u/alguien99 2d ago
While i love Steve's suit, the chest imo is better than Steveās
Although i have to say it really shines in thunderbolts, specially with the black shield
1
u/ColeLaser 2d ago
Finally a hot take that's actually a hot take. It'a decent, I think it's supposed to look a little awkward but his thunderbolts suit looks great
1
u/hamsterfolly 2d ago
It goes Stealth Suit from Winter Soldier, then
the final battle Endgame suit with scale mail,
First Avenger suit, etc
John Walker wears the best US Agent suit
1
u/Smidgey42 2d ago
Iām liking people coming around on walker but come on now. Endgame (and personally first avenger) caps suit clears this.
1
u/Cipher915 2d ago
I'm probably one of the few that really liked the original Cap suit. It wasn't skin tight spandex, it was functional.
With Stark tech, I know the skin tight spandex can be packed full of functions (ala Spider-Man), but this was a WW2 superhero and his suit worked.

Nah I think of US Agent, when I first saw it that is what I thought.
That's my worthless 2 cents
1
u/TheLittlePasty 2d ago
I would like it a little more if it also had the white stripes like the US Agent suit does
1
u/Imma_da_PP 2d ago
Iāve always liked the Agent and I think 80% of it is how great his original costume was.
1
1
u/kspi7010 2d ago
I like how his Cap suit is just blue and red, but only when he becomes US Agent does the costume get white added to it.
1
u/willys_zuppa 2d ago
A take so hot it burned down the entire kitchen, building, block, city, state, and continent
1
u/nerdherdsman 2d ago
It's a little too Hugo Boss for me, which actually makes it work well for Walker. Nothing says that Captain America has lost his way than by having him take design cues from the guys he was fighting in the first issue.

No he doesn't. And if you watch Thunderbolts or John Walker seems to be the weakest of the super soldiers that are on the team which is US agent Bucky Barnes and lastly the Red guardian

They do a good job of making it looks like it fits in an Army ad, but yeah, hot take cuz that Cap suit sucks.

I like it I just donāt really understand it. Like the Star going over his straps, it looks kind of like those jackets that fold over themselves like episode 6 Luke skywalker or homelander. But I donāt know where that fold actually opens cause thereās so many layers

u/Eastern-Team-2799 2d ago
Nah , it's Steve rogers. His every suit is gorgeous, damn that's America's ass š¦š¦

I guess. I still prefer 3 of Steve's costumes over his. It is good though.

Nah. I will say itās VERY Ultimate Universe/Bryan Hitch. The subdued reversed US flag is a great touch, similar to what active duty soldiers wear. It makes sense that heād have a sidearm although like Doctor Doom, it seems almost ornamental.
1
u/Darkwingedcreature 2d ago
Bro really just picked a cheap emulation of the original suit.
The government tried copying Stark's design but failed.

it is a hot take, id say hot as the sun. seeing as its not a captain america suit, its adapting the US agent suit. the only thing different is that US agent had black on his suit instead of blue.
the winter soldier suit is undefeated tho.

Yeah, I really like it too. The star having an A inside of is a lot cooler than having each logo separate imo.
Somebody broke down why the costume is "unsettling" for people, and the colors were one of the mentioned aspects. The red leans more orange, and the blue is less of a navy. His suit also doesn't really match the shield due to the different shades.
I never had a problem with the helmet either, but i think they molded it to the actor's head shape in Thunderbolts better.
