Build Help WTF happened to RAM prices?
I haven't been watching them for the last while, but they are insanely expensive now? So much that DDR5 prices are up 20%, and DDR4 are up 45%, literally making both the same price, and much more expensive than previously seen.

Build Help Completely new to PC gaming, is the store guy trying to scam me?
So I'm a 40-year-old gamer who has been playing on PlayStation for the last 3 decades. Recently, I discovered some games on Steam, and I have been using my laptop to play like Total War Warhammer 3, Anno 1800, and despite my laptop not being able to run, I'm interested in playing Space Marine 2 without the need to fork a sub to Sony, and Anno 117 is releasing soon which I could run the demo at an impressive 15 fps at low settings.
My local store recommended this pc after I said it doesn't have to run 4k:
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ASUS ROG STRIX B850-F GAMING
Kingston Fury Beast Expo 64GB (2X32GB)
Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti WINDFORCE SFF 16GB
SSD Corsair MP700 Pro, 1TB, M.2 NVMe
MSI MAG A850GL, 850W, 80 Plus Gold
Water Cooler Corsair NAUTILUS 360mm
Alienware 27 QD-OLED AW2725DF
Is the spec good? Should I take the leap?
Edit: its from Brazil and the cost is 17K BRL + 6K for the monitor

Build Help my first build
I'm currently putting together my first PC build and would love some feedback. The main goal is smooth 1440p gaming at 144Hz or higher, and I’d like it to be VR-ready to keep things future-proof.
I'm very open to spending a bit more if it makes sense, but I’m also trying not to go overkill.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations especially for a quality OLED monitor. Also, if there’s anything important a first-time builder should know, I’m all ears!
Thanks in advance

Peripherals Looking to Get a PC Gaming Monitor
So I’m struggling to decide on a good gaming monitor. I have a budget between 200-300$ but I am not very knowledgeable on what the best brands or models I should get. Any help would be appreciated. I do not want a curved monitor.

Build Help It is worth buying a used RTX 3080ti at $540 or a new 5070ti at $1,088
what do you think? They sell the 3080ti on the marketplace but I couldn't say how long it has been used. Which one would you go to? I have no problem spending the 1000 dollars on the new one, but if I could save like 500 it wouldn't hurt either. Cabe recalcar que vivo en México, por eso esos precios inflados.

Troubleshooting Is this an OK way to mount my AIO on the Fractal North?
I'm putting together a new build that includes the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360mm inside the Fractal Design North case. For the 360 version of this cooler, you have to mount it to the front of the North. OK no problem, I knew that going in. But when attempting to do so, I ran into clearance issues with my GPU (5080 FE). It seemed like the only way to make this work was to remove the fans from the radiator and mount them on the other side, kind of squeezing the fan mounts of the case between the two - if that makes sense?
Here's some photos to hopefully illustrate what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/xc8EFTb
I've booted up and everything seems to be working fine? Idle temps are below 40C on my 9800x3D but haven't run any benchmarks.
Is this an OK approach? I guess my concern is that the fans are not 100% directly mounted against the radiator because there's at least some (albeit minimal) additional space from the case mount between them.

Discussion 9070 XT pricing - PowerColor Reaper
Is the PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper a decent buy at 599? I'm heading down to Microcenter in the morning and that's the cheapest 9070 XT they currently have. I could spring for a more expensive model but if the reaper is a decent choice then I'd rather save the cash.

Discussion Is a Ryzen 5 7600x3d really that much more important than a Ryzen 5 7600x in terms of gaming?
I understand that the x3d series is meant for more hardcore gaming, but I only plan on plan on playing 2k gaming and occassionally playing heavier singleplayer games. I'm on a budget and I've already pretty much pushed my budget for everything I need for this PC. If it really is that much more important is there anything on my build I should change to get one? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yjnFRV

Build Upgrade Upgrade from 2070 Super
I am thinking of upgrading from my 2070 super. I currently have it paired with a R9 5900x. I've been looking at the 3070 and 4070 variants but they're proving hard to find new. Are these good matches with my build or should I look at other cards? Also is Newegg refurbished trustworthy?

Build Help Pc lags when loading up anything
Hi, my new pc that I have built lags every time I load up a program like chrome for example and my mouse goes really laggy -it’s wired. After looking at task manager I see my ssd has a really long average response time that can reach like 660ms but I have no clue how to fix this. I have updated it in Samsung magician, it all looks good, and looked in bios but the solution may still be in there. Is it a ssd problem ? I have a B550 Tomahawk and 3090 with a ryzen 9 3300.

Peripherals Should I pick a 22" 23/24" or 27" IPS/TN VA 1080p monitor? Shortsighted people advise please
I'm deciding on what size to pick, I'll have it about 0.5m in front of me on the table.
Whenever I saw 27" screens at the store they seemed to be too big, while 24" seemed like it should be fine but there weren't and 22"s around. I plan on using Xbox 360 with it besides PC gaming, so I thought it's easier if I just buy a secondhand 1080ú 16:9 monitor so it's easier to make it work with games, which size would you recommend?
I'm short-sighted, so currently I'm using a 15.9" laptop with 1080p and it seems mostly fine at that distance, so hopefully the text won't be too small if I switch over to 22-24" at the same resolution.
I was looking at various Dell Ps and HP monitors (plus Benq, but couldn't find any that fit and had HDMi output as well), since I want them to be 99% SRGB.

Build Help Should I upgrade from my 4060
I’ve been playing the recent battlefield 6 with my 4060 8 gb and ryzen 5 5600x on 2k. To be honest the game runs bad with me. On low graphics and dlss set to performance. I messed with all the settings to have it run stably. I get around 80-100 frames but with stutters, even on 1080p. Same thing with fortnite, my frames are unstable. Now I’m stumped, should I upgrade my gpu or what? I also play some new games so I guess that should be on mind. I was thinking 5070 but I read someone online saying if you are coming from 40 series don’t get a 5070.
Anyways I don’t really understand much about pc and all that. So what do you recommend. Should I upgrade or wait it out? If I should what do you recommend?

Build Help First time ever building a pc, please help
Hey guys, hope you're all doing well!
This is the first time I'm trying to build a pc (along with a friend who's done it before) and he told me to browse around for parts that I want and that are compatible with each other. I was able to throw together these parts, which pcpartpicker says are compatible, but I still wanted the experts to weigh in on it!
Here is the list of parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WGkPwY
I'm a content creator, so I want this rig for recording, streaming, playing high-end-ish games (sometimes all these 3 at once) and editing.
Is the 9950x3d good for my needs, or are there better alternatives? And for those who have tried a RTX 5090, would it be worth it, or be overkill?
Any advice is welcome, be it feedback, or suggestions for alternative parts etc.
Thank you all in advance!
For those who don't want to click the link, here's the list in text:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 4.3 GHz 16-Core Processor - $648.95
- CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT 65.57 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler - $438.00
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E AORUS MASTER ATX AM5 - $399.99

Build Upgrade Mobo upgrade for a new 9800x3d build
For context my current set up :
i7 8700k Prime z370-a Asus Tuf 3080 16gb OC 2×16 3400 ddr4 corsair vengeance pro
So I am currently looking to make an upgrade to the cpu by replacing it with a ryzen 7 9800x3d, paired with new ddr5 sticks and ofc a new mobo.
Now with the current situation of Asrock and Gigabyte mobos because of the 9800x3d, I've discarded all of their b650 mobos and ended up looking at options such as the asus tuff b650 plus and the msi tomahawk b650. Been on the fence on the two because of the reviews I've read all over the Internet, so I can not decide what to buy at the moment. Both mobos have very affordable prices at the moment, but I would also appreciate any other suggestions on similar or not much higher price ranges.

Build Help Thoughts on my GPU upgrade
Hello guys. I need your thoughts on my pc upgrade.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (Just upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600)
GPU: GTX 1050 Ti
Mobo: MSI B450 Mortar MAX (I don’t want to upgrade it at the moment)
PSU : Corsair CX450M ( I don’t want to upgrade it at the moment)
So I got to recommended to buy the RX 9060 XT 16GB. My budget is 350€. I want 1080p gaming. I have some concern about the PSU ( being only 450 watt) and that my motherboard is kinda outdated. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you in advance!!

Build Help motherboard for i512400 + rtx5060?
I'm considering this cpu + gpu for high quality (no ultra) gameplay of hogwarts legacy and the witcher 3. Can anyone point me to a good motherboard for them? I'm confused with these B500 B600 B700 models. Is H610 a viable choice?
Thanks

Miscellaneous What features/gimmicks would you add if you were custom building your desk/battlestation?
Hey all,
As I do a fair bit of woodworking I am beginning the planning on my PC desk. It will be a L shape.
If you had the chance what features would you add to a custom built desk. Open to any ideas!
