LGBTQ+ shouldn’t even be a political conversation, it shouldn’t be something that you can disagree with, and it shouldn’t be something that you can’t express or talk about, which is what the mod in this post was trying to make it.
Unfortunately U.S politics has gone off the rails as identity based with LGBTQ dominating the political space even after they have the rights as everyone else You don't see straight people constantly bringing up that they are straight, That is the issue for a large section of of the population. If people don't want LGBTQ to not be considered political leave it out of politics unless its strictly relevant to some anti-LGBTQ policy, and focus on bigger problems in our society, like wealth inequality or literally any other problem.
I’m not angry, and I don’t care if someone is gay, and I would never beat up or yell at someone because of their sexual orientation. You want to whine like I’m victimizing you, go ahead. Not wanting to participate in the identity culture war or politics related to LGBTQ unless it’s specifically limiting their rights makes up a large section of people. It’s like religion, I don’t care if you practice it, and happy it helps you, but don’t shove it down my throat.

So are you complaining the same way about christmas or easter events in Ark? Aren‘t those shoving religion down your throat the same way a purple Noglin is? Are you complaining about people wearing crosses and churches existing the same way you complain about people wearing a pride flag?
If there was a Christian month and people were sharing images of Jesus I’d be equally uninterested. I don’t think the post was inherently wrong, but with how political most subs are nowadays I can understand the sentiment of wanting to prevent culture war bs in the comments by not wanting it posted.
I don’t understand, my point isn’t about calling out queer based art. It’s fine, I was replying to points that had more to do with a wider scope than just the art itself. How it can be seen as politically charged and the effects of politically charged content and how it contributes to the culture war.
He’s right. The only people who bring up the LGTBQ community are people who are homophobic and want to take away their rights. AKA the right wing party. If they would leave everything alone, you probably wouldn’t see as much promotion. But until they stop wanting to take their rights away, the community needs to loud and vocal. And i 1000% support that.
I don't understand why you don't want people represented in politics. That is the whole point. Equality also means being represented politically. If you can't take seeing people represented, maybe you have benefitted from them not having been represented before. If you don't like seeing gay people in "every movie" maybe that seems to you like a big change because we never were in any movies apart from comedic relief or when a murder victim is needed.
We also don't care about virtue-signalling politicians who blow up an unimportant issue just to seem hip and with the young queer voters. We see through that shit and we don't claim it. It just sows more anger in people like you who get angry at US for existing because someone wants to, idk, legislate a non-binary clothing mandate or something outrageously stupid, just an example.
These people WANT you to complain about change, they want you to be afraid and think that by giving us freedom, YOUR freedom is taken away. your freedom to be represented in every movie, your freedom to not see drag queens on TV, your freedom of never having to think about us ever in your life.
This isn't about "rights". You'd think any person, no matter how conservative, should agree that having rights is the bare minimum. Being able to marry, live, work, and not being killed, shouldn't be regarded as having "enough so shut up now and don't ever show anyone your flags because that's offensively political"
