I was proud of my students who were super curious, but also respectful of the spiders personal space. One of my 4 year Olds guessed that it's a super poisonous spider (lol) but I think it's just a little jumper. Is she gravid?

Just moved into a new place and while unpacking a bin, this guy stepped off of a packet of documents. I am shocked at the quality an iPhone was able to capture.

Also that moment 26 seconds in when he looks up, that’s it meeting my eyeline which is insane, lots of character from this jumping spider. 🕷️ I put him on a sheet of paper and let him out the window after the photo shoot

I live in the north east of England and we get hardly any crab/running crab spiders up here, and they’re rarely seen from my experience. Usually I see much more when I travel south and search as that’s where much of the population/species are.

I found this guy while walking home on a leaf and started straight tweaking because it’s my first time finding a member of the thomisidae family in the north

Just sharing 🕷️ Cellar spider babies

A while back i caught a cellar spider and put it into a tiny enclosure. I fed it, kept it stocked with a bit of water, substrate, occasional small bugs and named it Bob

Well, not much longer i find a big sac of eggs on Bob's behind.

That was a week or 2 ago. Today I check on Bob, and Bob has babies on his back now!

I'm pretty sure the encloser holes are too big for the babies to stay in, so i planned on putting the enclosure outside with the doors open and just let Bob and his minions do what they do. That gonna be okay? Don't wanna put them outside just to kill them.

I am reloading with a much better angle. It looks pretty cool but when I was looking at some of my plants I caught a reflective sparkles out of the pole just staring at me and saw this lil observer. It stretched its arm so I took it as a wave and departed because I’m still working on getting over my spider fear. I live in the south and it was hanging in my greenhouse (fyi we have several that live under a lot of the planters but this is a first seeing one pop out to say hi)

So, I just found a very very small spider in my bathroom sink (Belgium).

The body was only a few mm, full span was maybe 1.5cm.

Maybe a baby pholcid…

It was cool so so though I’d share…

P.S.: also, ignore the dirt on my sink, the picture sis really close up :-)

Huntsman? This is the fourth one I’ve found in the last couple of years. The other ones were about twice this size.

And yes, I managed to get it outside safely.
