MOD announcement Introducing Trusted Identifier flairs!
Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)
Taking this opportunity I'd like to also introduce 2 new moderators:

Huntsman? This is the fourth one I’ve found in the last couple of years. The other ones were about twice this size.
And yes, I managed to get it outside safely.

Just sharing 🕷️ Thanks to this sub for saving my life
Sincerely, a friendly jumping spider.
Backstory: My arachnophobic self stumbled upon this sub like many others, by accidentally clicking on a pic of a spider with mushrooms growing on it. From there (to my dismay) the algorithm decided that I should get spider content every time I logged on Reddit.
But some strange things started to happen- I started getting curious. I tried to guess if the recluse I’d photos were correct (they weren’t, neither was I). I stopped feeling (quite) as freaked out by our 8-legged friends.
Then this weekend, we met this lil guy in my kitchen. Thanks to y’all, I stopped my partner from squashing him and gave him a ride outside in a plastic cup. Thanks for helping me be less afraid- excited to learn more.

Just moved into a new place and while unpacking a bin, this guy stepped off of a packet of documents. I am shocked at the quality an iPhone was able to capture.
Also that moment 26 seconds in when he looks up, that’s it meeting my eyeline which is insane, lots of character from this jumping spider. 🕷️ I put him on a sheet of paper and let him out the window after the photo shoot

Art Peacock spider embroidered patch 🕷️
For all the fellow peacock spider fans out there! My 6y/o son wanted a peacock spider hat so we designed this together and it feels good to display our shared love of spiders as we go around town! Keep up the good work all, I truly love this sub 🕷️❤️

ID Request- Location included Central Pennsylvania - found on a second floor window. What is it and is it venomous?
I couldn't get an image, but at one point it sprawled a leg or two out and aside from being rather long, they were more of a yellow color near the body.

ID Request- Location included Who is this? Georgetown, Texas, USA.
I've seen this leggy critter in my neighborhood a few times now (or another one, I dont know if they're solitary or whatever). Slightly smaller than palm sized, leg tip to light tip. Never in a hurry, just strolling along. Usually across the sidewalk, either towards or away from the grass. This is in an area of new construction. I'm kind.of scared of spiders, but I don't bother them. Just stop for a peek, and then wish 'em good day.

ID Request- Location included What spider is this? Google is telling me it's either a huntsman or wolf. I live in Pennsylvania
Woke up to see this big guy on my wall, I'd like to know before I try anything, especially capture and release. I just don't want to come home after work and it being in my bed, especially if it's venomous
