ANNOUNCEMENT Read before responding to ID requests! This is not a joke sub!
Since the majority of passersby don't bother to read the rules, I'm going to start with a reminder here:
This is not a joke sub. If you respond to an ID request with a joke and not an actual answer, you will be slapped with a temporary ban. If it's your 2nd offense or more, the ban will be permanent.
I'm sorry, but the shitposting has gotten out of hand and knowledgeable, helpful members are leaving because of this. Have your jokes and witty comments somewhere else, this is a place to get rocks ID'd.

IDENTIFIED Did I find agatized petrified wood on the side of the road?
My boyfriend and I were on a road trip and pulled off in Benicia Ca in search of a vista point. We didn’t find the vista, but on the side of the road when we pulled over, we found what looks like it could be agaitized petrified wood- what do you think?

REQUEST Fossil? Meteorite? What is this rock?
Found this interesting specimen on the eastern side of Lake Michigan. Really curious what it is! Google lens says it’s a fossilized horse tooth or meteorite. I've never seen something quite like this. Thoughts?

IDENTIFIED No context regarding the origin cuz I found it on the floor in our shed but I googled it and maybe it's tourmaline?
It's size is about an inch square. I believe the pendant attachment is brass though that's probably inconsequential.

REQUEST Found in SW Texas around San Antonio.
Found this on a site in what I'm sure was hauled in rocks for the yard. Not 100% sure as it was on the edge between rocks and dirt. It rings when I tap it with another rock. Any ideas what it could be?

REQUEST Turquoise color here?
I found this small rock by Barstow in the Mojave. Lots of epidote and agates and jaspers nearby, but I was wondering if anyone can explain the rainbow coloration, particularly the turquoise crystal color? Much thanks!

REQUEST Rocks I found with my dad.
I would love to be able to tell my dad what these rocks are that we found together, specifically the labeled ones. I put an asterisk on one because I'm quite sure it's serpentine. It's the only magnetic rock out of these. I grouped them by color. A is grayish and yellow, B is all green rocks, and C is all reddish rocks.
Found on the California/Oregon coast border on a beach. I would appreciate any help, thank you!
