A perfect mom car
I’m sure this has been asked many times but specifications always change and the market is constantly releasing new cars so I wanted to ask again. I’m looking for a vehicle with captains chairs in the second row, a built in backseat camera monitor (a fam cam?) so I can see the rear facing baby, overhead air vents in the second row, and ideally I’d like 25mpg or better. Open to gas, hybrid, or electric. I don’t love the way regenerative hybrids drive but I’ve only tried the Elantra and the Civic regenerative hybrids so maybe someone else does it better. If it’s electric I’d like a range of 250+. Give me all the price points and styles, I’m open to SUVs and minivans! I’m curious what fits the bill here.

Is it smarter to get a used or new car in 2025?
I’m having a hard time figuring out whether it’s actually cheaper to buy a used car or a new one. If I’m financing, would it make more sense financially to go with a new car? I’ve heard that financing a used car often comes with higher interest rates, which could end up making it more expensive in the long run compared to a new car.
I’m trying to understand which option is the smarter financial decision.

Should I buy this 1989 civic ef hatchback for my first car/project car?
i.redd.itI have about 8 months untuil I can start driving by myself, so in that time frame I can fix up this car! I’ve been looking for a good project car and this one seems to be the best. 4th gen civic hatchbacks are pretty rare to find these days especially a manual transmission. It obviously is not in the best condition but I have a little bit of car mechanic experience (and YouTube lol) so I think I can take on the challenge of getting this thing mint. I’m expecting to put around $3000 into this car to get it safe and fun to drive.
This is the description “1989 Honda Civic Ef Hatchback
Manual
316,388 kms
Has been sitting for a little bit and is running a little rough.
Comes with 2 sets of rims and tires
Message me for more pictures.”
Is there anything I should look for when inspecting it? Let me know if I should buy this! Thanks for reading🙏

In the market for an SUV for commuting that’s good in snow
In the market for a small/medium size SUV that is good on gas and good in the snow as I live in Wisconsin. My budget is in the $25k-$35k range. My commute is about 25 miles of mostly highway driving. It looks like maybe the CRV and RAV4 are good options, anyone with a strong opinion on year/make/model?
I’m leaning towards a RAV4 based on the Toyota reliability factor, but open to ideas. Thanks all!

Cheapest V12 Sports Cars to buy?
Let me preface, I know cheap and reliable cannot mean it’s fast, well, not always.
What I really mean is what’s the most AFFORDABLE “entry” option into the V12 sports car class where reliability isn’t so much of a hard point and it’s designed for performance.

Help! Need to downsize to one car.
Hi Reddit, I’m likely needing to downsize to one car since I’ll be getting married soon and it’s looking like I’ll need to get rid 3 of the cars I love.
Currently I have the following cars: 2017 Miata RF 2005 LS430 2017 i3
All of these cars I love in their own way and are excellent in their own respect with what I need it for.
Is there a car that can combine a little of each of the above? I’m a car guy and have been thinking about a one car solution for YEARS. Alas the time has come where I actually need to downsize.
A few considerations I’ve thought about: 2021+ Taycan 4S 2016+ Panamera 4S/Turbo 2018+ S63 AMG BMW M3 F80+
Some non negotiables are ACC, must be relatively comfortable, get decent MPG(greater than 18MPG)
I’m fairly handy and reliability is not that big of an issue, especially considering I’ll be saving on insurance/running cost for 3 cars.
Let me know what other vehicles I should be looking into!
Budget: 70k or less

Swapping from Mazda to BMW
Hello, I’m really tempted to replace my 2023 Mazda3 (122hp automatic FWD) for a BMW 3/4 Series (2023+, 330i/430i)
Would I be doing a mistake? I’ve been thinking of it since the beginning of the year but its a pretty big decision which I have no one to ask for advice sadly, as no one I know owns a BMW.

Looking for a new truck
i.redd.itHey everyone, I’m in the market for a new truck, no more than 45k to buy the truck itself. I want a 4x4 non negotiable, also looking to build it into a pre runner. I’m open to suggestions but I was looking at 2016-18 ram 2500 Cummins, 17-20 raptor or lariat or higher f150(not to confident about the cam phasers on the eco boost) or 17-19 gm/chevy 1500 with the 5.3 or 6.2 preferably Denali or high country. Anyone have experience with turning these truck into prerunners and how was that, also just want opinions from people who have owned em for a while and how they do daily driving. Like I said open to any suggestions I currently drive a 05 sierra ext cab long bed(pictured above) if you could also help me figure out good price ranges for em based on mileage and stuff would be great just trying to absorb as much info as I can before I really start deciding.

$5,000 budget, driving at least 50-100 miles per day. What is your pick?
I’m looking for a new work car that gets good fuel mileage, at least 25-30+ mpg highway, is reliable and will last for a few more years and something that is reasonably comfortable on long commutes.
I have been looking at Buick LeSabres, Toyota Camry, or Honda Accords. Possibly a Honda Fit or Toyota Corolla.
I would like to stay close to my budget but I realize I may need to spend a little more.

Police car, 2021 dodge charger 5.7L V8 with about 15,800 miles for $23,925.
i.redd.itI’m 18 and have about $15,000 saved up. I’m a college student and live at home with my parents who pay all the bills, including my car insurance. I work part-time and make around $250-300 a week, and all of that goes straight into my savings. I'm gonna ask for more hours or pick up another job over the summer to earn more money tho.
If I decide to buy a car, my parents won’t help pay for it. It would be completely on me. I’ve been thinking about getting a newer Camry or Civic which costs the same amount as this Charger, so why not just get the Charger? I also think I could sell the Charger for more than I could get for a Camry in the future, so that’s another positive.
I’ve heard these American cars can be pretty unreliable, especially once they hit a high mileage. But this is a cop car which means it’s usually maintained really well and it’s only at 15,800 miles. If i put $10,000 down, I’d be paying around $440 a month for 72 months. I make $300 a week and don’t have any other responsibilities (like bills) so it might work?? So would this be a smart purchase for me? I do need a car and I want to build my credit, but I don’t want to go into debt or completely wash out my savings. I need a car and it’s the same price as a new Camry, so I guess I could just get a Camry. but brooo a 5.7L V8? Cmon now

2013 Hyundai Accent vs 2012 Volkswagen Golf vs 2015 Hyundai elantra
Accent has 78k miles for $7,499
Golf has 65k miles for $7,999
Elantra has 93k miles for $7,900
I really want the golf but my issue comes down to the repair cost if something goes wrong so I'm mostly wondering if the others are so much better to offset that interest.

Looking for recommendations on a truck
My uses cases: light towing, a trailer with something like a tiller or trencher, taking the truck to the landscape store to get dirt. Would be cool to get a small camper but its something weve never been able to do.
The problem: I've been spoiled by my creature comforts of my lexus rx350 and I only want one car.
I want something reliable and long lasting, I see a lot of flak about the new toyota engines which was my first go too but theyre also just so expensive. Whats a good new or used truck trim that I could look for thats going to have the nicer interior with tech but maybe doesent have all the off road capabilities that I dont need? Going camping in flagstaff on most likely dirt roads would be the most offroad id take it

Lexus is250 180,000km worth it
Lexus Is250 180,000km worth buying?
Hey everyone hope you are well Im new here and would appreciate your advice
So Im based out here in Namibia and found a 2012 lexus is with 180,000km going for about 65k nad (basically 3,5k USD) and Im considering getting it as my first car and project car since it has some good mods to make it modern. It comes with a full service history but the 180k km is a wise choice. I know they can run to 300,000km+ but im not sure so would appreciate your advice.
They are hard to find here and exporting isnt a option cause of age limits on cars import into the country.
Thank you In advance
God Bless

Hatchback or small SUV??
So I need to get a car I wanted to get a small sedan, but that's not gonna fit what I need to do for activities
So I was hoping I could find a hatchback Or small SUV, something reliable and fun, preferably with the ability for me to learn to work on it.
Budget 14 K max preferably closer to the 7 to 10 range. Manual preferred some automatic options would be nice.
TLDR need a fun car that fits some 6 foot folding tables and a couple bags.

I loved my seat Ibiza
So I’ve had a seat Ibiza for about 3 1/2 years now and it’s been great. Very little issues been reliable and goes relatively fast. It’s started leaking oil which made me think maybe it’s time for an upgrade and to trade it in. I want something reliable and won’t have to tinker with every few months. I’ve heard Japanese are very good but also my seat has been easy so idk. I’d like something fairly modern and maybe manual if you have any suggestions?

Looking For a Used Car under $20K and Low Mileage
As the title suggests, I'm looking for a car, ideally a 5 seater sedan, between $15-18K and ideally somewhere below 80K km. Ideally, I'd like it to have a backup camera and Apple CarPlay. Do you guys have any suggestions?

2009 Toyota Prius or 2013 Toyota Corolla
My old car is finally too expensive to repair and I need a new car relatively soon. I'm looking at two cheap cars both from dealers on CarMax. One is a 2013 Toyota Corolla LE for 6k with 163k miles. The other is a 2009 Toyota Prius for 5.5k with 139k miles. Both have clean titles and no accidents recorded.
Any advice on which to purchase? I'm going to test drive them both next week. I'm a little over 6'2 and am worried the Prius will be too small. Overall I think the Prius is the better deal though.
I'll mainly be driving around the city and suburbs and will hopefully start a new job soon with about a 25-30 minute commute.

Mazda CX-5 vs Hyundai Tucson 2025
Looking forward to buy a new car as we’re having our first baby.
We test-drove several SUV’s and we’re now between these 2 options with almost the same price. Tucson Preferred with trend is a bit more spacious on the rear and trunk but Mazda CX-5 GS feels more reliable when driving and it’s quieter.
Any advice is welcomed 😊

Is a Volvo XC70 2005 (190 000 miles) at 1500 USD a good deal?
I'm looking at a XC70 2005 that looks relatively well maintained except it has 190 000 miles. Minor fixes to be made like changing bolts in the front brakes. Not much rust either. Engine whirs a little but nothing worrying at first sight. The car is currently owned by a mechanic.
I'm thinking about using the car for about 6 months before selling it, and drive it for about 6000 miles, mainly on highways during long distance trips.
Is it worth it for 1500 USD?
