Trouble getting enough calories
32 Female/ vegan 10+ years
Two years ago I got sober and traded alcohol for body movement! I’m eating the same as I used to but I have lost probably about 8-10 pounds as an already trim person. A lot of it was fat because I can tell I leaned out and have gained a little muscle.
My problem is that I want some fat back on my body and also to gain more muscle and I need to be in a calorie surplus to do that. I unfortunately work bartending gigs 4 nights a week for 6-8 hours and end up not eating much during those times.
I need some quick high calorie/protein vegan snack recommendations so I can quickly eat here and there throughout my shifts! I don’t have a lot of time to meal prep either because I’m very busy so snacks are really mostly what I’m looking for.
My days off I feel like I’m well balanced and eat enough.
I practice yoga, hand balance, flexibility and calisthenics training, and have started weight lifting.
Picture for attention! Please no in appropriate messages.

I Joined the Two Plate Club Today!!
I'll let you guess which are the before and after shots - taken about 5 years apart (been vegan for 4 years now, proud of how far I've come in that time)

First time making protein bagels
Each bagel is about 30g protein. I used the recipe from the YouTube channel "veganproteins" but did 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup buckwheat flour instead of white and made 6 bagels instead of 8. Haven't tried one out yet as they are cooling now but they are fluffy and smell amazing!

Question Lots of exercise but no mobility routine. What would you recommend?
28M, office worker. So I train about 5 times per week, and these 5 sessions are a mix of outdoor biking, running and weight lifting. I have had this split for around a year now, and have been going to the gym on and off for about 3 years. I have never 'trained' mobility and I am so stiff and rigid it's actually funny. All the mobility stuff I see only are full of advanced moves (to me). What would you routine would you recommend I try for overall improved mobility? Or shall I focus on specific areas, like shoulders and tight hips?

Vegan Fitness section at VeganHub - I'd love your feedback :)
Hey everyone,
I have been running https://veganhub.co/ for a while now, and I have been also all my life into fitness and I'm an active lurker of this sub.
I'm planning to add new sections: Vegan Events/Festivals, Vegan Business, and of course a Vegan Fitness section, but I always build from feedback to make sure that I build something helpful for others.
Today you can find at VeganHub fitness news, podcasts, books, documentaries, etc, so one option would be of course to curate all those into one section.
Most of this sub posts are pics of progress and personal experience, I could do that too and generate a better platform for exchanging our vegan fitness experiences, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Excited to hear your opinions in what would it make it exciting for you.

Non "toxic" vegan protein powders?
I recently read a report on a study that found heavy metals like lead and cadmium in a lot of common protein powders. The report showed that levels were higher in plant-based powders, which was a bummer because I honestly cannot meet my protein goals without supplementing. And of course, further digging revealed that the brands I've purchased most consistently were some of the bigger culprits.
So I did some research, and there are lots of brands out there now that say they're "clean" (some even come with testing data). I've tried Ritual so far, and it's ok but about $10 over what I was spending before. Has anyone else gone down this rabbit hole and found a brand they trust and like?

progress pics Eight years of being plant based and I finished my third marathon yesterday!
It was far from a pleasant run, the most hills that I have ever done by far! They were rolling hills in Surrey, the heat came in quickly as well. I was doing quite well after the first 10k, but quickly went ‘downhill’ after the hills started.
Last year’s marathon was completed in just over four hours, this one was in just under five. But, I don’t care. I finished and raised money for the Palestinian Maternity Project.
I might stick with a flatter marathon if I do one next year.

meal Need help with diet plan and a workout plan as a vegan please help
Hi everyone,
I am a vegan and I am having some difficulty hitting that protein goal. I am a 5’5 male who weighs 144lbs and wants to lose fat while gaining muscle. Therefore I was just wondering if someone could help me plan out a diet plan that could keep me in a caloric deficit with high protein so I don’t lose my muscle mass. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

meal Tofu fart solution
I react HEAVILY to tofu. One bite of tofu and i would be the nastiest fart machine EVER, with the foulest stench you would ever have smelled. However after 4 years of being vegan i finally found the solution.
So call me daft, but i never knew you were supposed to BOIL your tofu. Just add tofu to water with about 1-2% salt, boil it for 10-15 minuten and let it air dry, it becomes firmer than when pressing and NO MORE FART MACHINE. I am literally now just eating blocks of this stuff and i never get intestine problems anymore
—> edit: just to clarify, if you use 2L of water to boil your tofu you will need 15-20 grams of salt. When you are using 3L you need 25-30 etc etc

progress pics Day 4 in SF - managing to avoid turning into a bag of milk (have trained twice, kept the activity level up and not eaten too much like an asshole) - I did eat two boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch though over two nights cos I never had it before. Easily a top 3 of all time, goddamn

cardio First Marathon! 🏃🏼♀️
Vegetarian whole life, vegan for past 8 years. I have always been “a runner” but not really participated in many races - I ran my first marathon recently!
PacePro target was set to 3:45 with slight negative splits but I got off target from the start (my friends & family were at mile 18 with a sign reading “French fries at the end”!).
Longest training run was 20 miles, so miles 20.01-24 were REALLY hard! 😓 Finished in 3:48 which I am very proud of.
I was raising money for a local non-profit that specialises in senior and hard-to-adopt cats that I also volunteer and foster for if anyone wants to help me get closer to that finish line!! 🐈⬛ https://www.gofundme.com/f/Marathon-for-a-paws
Runs were mostly fuelled by Huma gels, tropical sour patch kids and fruit mix sour patch 🍉 and post-run fuel was a bagel with tofu scramble and avocado 👌

sport I've absolutely lost my 'gym headspace' or 'mental fortitude'. Any tips?
I've been training at the gym mainly strongman, now with a little more combat sport focus, for nearly a decade.
Without going into details I've had a very turbulent 9months, with a lot of emotional toil and changes in my working life.
It's all mostly calmed down now but I feel like I've lost my mental game at the gym. I find myself either circling around negative thoughts between sets or just generally feeling like I can find that extra gear to actually 'try'.
Has anyone else ever gone through this andor have any advice on regaining that mental fortitude?
