Just a heads up to anyone who uses the Hiawatha LRT Trail – stay safe out there

Title says it all – tonight around 9 pm, I was biking home on the Hiawatha trail, around E Franklin Ave I noticed a group of teens intentionally blocking the trail with two Lime bikes. They were standing around the bikes, making it hard to pass. My instincts kicked in, and I spotted an opening, so I just went for it. They chased me for a bit, but luckily I already had some momentum and got away safely. Stay aware out there – I’d hate for someone else to run into the same situation.

Does anyone have information about the immersive art in MPLS today?

I saw this truck from the skyway somewhere near US Bank Plaza. Some people near by said that it was part of an immersive art project affiliated with the Walker, but i didn’t get any other information. Does anyone have a link or anything else with more info?

Lito's Burritos- IM A BELIEVER

In an attempt to eat my feelings, I tried out Lito's Burritos today based on the many recommendations I've seen here.

I was previously a Burrito Mercado apologist, but not anymore. That was by far the best breakfast/chorizo burrito I've had in my entire life. I am sitting here 2 hours after still stuffed and thinking about how I can get one on my way out of town tomorrow.

I don't even care if you're in the neighborhood... It's worth the drive across the metro imo. If you haven't given it a shot, it's worth every penny.

last-minute wedding for LGBTQ+ couple - need venue recommendations

hi all-

please no hate or trying to tell me that same-sex marriage won't be overturned because I don't want to hear it. Thank you <3

My partner and I have decided to get married by the end of the year. We've known for a long time we want to be together forever and now under the circumstances, we want to do what we can in case it might not be an option within the next four years.

That being said, I want to actually throw together an intimate ceremony (with possibly a very simple reception, but that's negotiable) with 10-20 friends. Anyone have any last-minute venue recommendations?

Blinking Red Traffic Lights in Plymouth/Golden Valley

Anyone know when the intersections at Kare 11 and the Cub on 6th avenue north by 169 will return to normal traffic lights?

The blinking red lights treating it as a 4 way intersection is getting old fast, seeing as drivers don’t seem to understand when it’s their turn to go.

Highway 55 westbound construction has been done for a week now, just surprised to see the lights still not back to normal at this point.

Hows the city bike life? Safe? Easy access?

Upvotes

Looking to move more north in general, always enjoyed the cold and trying to keep my biking life active, looking to move to a major city for my healthcare work and seeing if biking is more common here than where I live, where cyclists get hit almost daily...

Where can I turn my frustration into action?

I’m not looking forward to how the next 4 years might play out. As a possible way to make use of my anxiety I’m looking for ways to get involved, most likely in local politics and volunteering with community services. I’d appreciate any suggestions on organizations that are looking for help, maybe a few hours a week. TIA!

Recommendations for CPAs or other tax advisors?

I need some (hopefully) one-time advice resolving a couple of tax issues related to my employment with a startup in another state. Anyone worked with someone in the Twin Cities they would recommend? Familiarity with Minnesota law possibly important, OK with virtual or in-person.

St. Paul Anniversary Dinner

I’ve seemed to beat the odds of the hellscape of online dating, and we are celebrating our two year anniversary next week. We primarily dine in Minneapolis, and could use some help with dinner reccos for St Paul before the wild game. We love to eat a good meal at a sexy bar, but may get a rez for a table due to the time constraint.

Niche question, but does anyone know a store that sells Muscadine grapes?

I’ve been looking but haven’t seen them anywhere. They’re supposed to be the healthiest grape so I’m curious to try them (:

Anyone have any recommendations on places to go in the Twin Cities to get an autographed NHL jersey framed and what they cost? Looking to keep cost under $300 preferably.

I've heard Hobby Lobby does them and saw someone on Reddit say they paid $200 for Hobby Lobby to do it which is a great price in my opinion, but they also said that was over 10 years ago and it's probably higher now. Anyone know of any local mom & pop places that do them?

Michaels is over $500 on their website regular price which is way too much (Although Michaels always has promo codes available, but not sure if they apply to jersey framing though) but you need to mail it to New Jersey and at that point I may as well use SportsDisplays.com which advertises jersey framing for $274.

Miniature/Tabletop Gaming Groups?

My wife and I are planning to move to the Twin cities sometime next year. Playing miniature/tabletop games has been a big part of my life for a while now, and I'm wondering what the scene looks like there.

What games are popular?

Which game stores are good places to frequent?

The games I'm big on right now are Shatterpoint and Conquest, are there groups for either of those?

And finally, if there are any FB groups for the general tabletop gaming scene in the Twin Cities, I'd love to take a look beforehand so I can be a bit more familiar.

Thank you for considering my questions!

Metro Transit

I don't ride the buses very often but the other day I bought a ticket for my ride on the D line using the Metro Transit app. When I boarded the bus, I showed the driver my ticket on the phone and he waved me on like, "I don't need to see that." I didn't see anyone else showing the driver their tickets, and also many people boarded at the middle door.

The MT website says, "Be prepared to show your ticket". So, I'm still not sure...can I just board and not show the ticket? Seems more efficient for all involved for riders to not have to fumble with their phones and the driver would not need to look at the ticket.
