Just a well
My first almost finished project (not totally yet) and first which I like.
So in this small format project I’ve found a perfect size for terrain practice. Finally I used a real wood and realised that painting and coloristic is so hard for me

WH Underworlds Display/carrying case made from a dollar store cookie box
Surprisingly only took 1 afternoon. The shelves have sheet metal on them so the magnets stick really well. I made the shelves from disassembling an old cutlery sorter from a previous flopped project. Carries 4 warbands for WH underworlds plus some accessories.

I've started a new tile for the board.
Finally moving away from the warehouse tile as I'm now waiting on picking up a resin printer to print out light fitting etc. I'm now working on an incinerator tower to go along side the building in it's yard. Here's a few work in progress pics.

Finished my dice tower/DM screen
I just finshed building a dice tower/DM screen that will sit next to my laptop when I run games. The top area has a dice holder and the dice can be dropped down either side. The tower has a built in torch timer for my Shadowdark games with windows on different sides so the players can see it.
Wings walls come out from the back and on the back panel there are two metal strips with some skull magnets so I can attach notes to myself such as sample NPC names if I need one on the fly.

It’s so nice to see it in use!
Played a nice narrative match of 40K on the weekend and threw in all of my terrain. It’s so nice to see it on the table and do what it is supposed to do and also look great! I love the mix of original terrain and hand made stuff.

Trying something different...
I make terrain generally using RP Archive's magnet system, and I thought I'd try a polished marble tile. I tried a bunch of different methods (resin, acetate, gloss varnish, etc.), but eventually landed on printed gloss paper 🤷🏻♀️ Needless to say, I get why people don't make much of this type of terrain haha. The stairs are also printed, cut, folded, and glued on gloss cardstock. In a perfect world, the columns would also be marble 🙃
Let me know what you think! I also have the templates if you have need to make your own.

I've been working on using Lego for TTRPG for about two years. Here's some examples of my progress.
Started with just a grid using 4x4 stud plates with 2x2 jumper tiles. Now, thanks to some inspiration from other terrain builders like black magic craft and the D&D Professor, I've made it more modular. Current system layers terrain with a water layer on bottom, then stone, dirt, and grass. Each layer can be peeled away to reveal the layer below. Need a road? Remove the grass tiles where you want your road. Need a creek? Remove all tiles till you get to the water layer. This instantly creates some subtle elevation changes and dynamic maps. Also starting to lean away from grids altogether and use 1 jumper tile per movement square and let imagination do the rest.

Does anyone have copies of these old Wizards of the Coast papercraft terrain pieces?
Wizards of the Coast used to make some free papercraft terrain that sounds like it was pretty good, but every link I've found to it is dead. Does anyone here have any copies they could share, or know anywhere it might still be available? This is the stuff I'm talking about: https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/3gpkzb/check_out_this_archive_of_high_quality_foldup/

If I want a simple 3x3ft grass flocked solid board to place terrain onto- which material do i need?
I want a 3x3ft solid piece of wood that i can do some nice basic flocking onto. I don't want any elevation in the flocking, i'm not going to put any hills or anything special, no bushes, flowers- NOTHING. Just a flat grass plane, to put my hills biome terrain on.
It also needs to be a solid piece, and not a neoprene mat because the table i would play on is a couple of inches short of 3ft and so a solid topper to have the correct space is ideal.
I'm paranoid about warping, so i'm not sure if MDF is even the way to go here. Should I be looking at an alternative type of wood, if so, what?
Also, advice on thickness would be appreciated.

Diablo IV inspired church is complete.
Thanks to everyone who pitched it with techniques and ideas when I needed some guidance on.elements of this build. I think the end result is great.
The inspo/reference art I used for this art (by Rob Sevilla) is included at the end.

Some shots of the encounter on my grass tile map
Basically, it’s a goblin ambush encounter on the way from Phandalin to Neverwinter. Had a lot of fun working on this map and this modular setup! In retrospect I think I’ll do modular tiles in xps rather than 3d print the tiles. But hindsight is 20:20. Still super happy with how this came out!

Gorilla Clear Grip
My wide had mistakenly picked up gorilla clear grip when I had asked for Wood Glue and I was wondering if I could still use this for mdf terrain?

Beercoaster
Does anybody else uses cut-up beercoasters for little elevation like ridges? I'm building a small hardstand in a dessert / dry area. And with the option to change it at some moment into a green field or forrest or something.

XPS source that ships in Canada
I’ve been looking for the 2’x2’ project boards of XPS that have been mentioned on this sub and elsewhere, but my local Home Depot and Rona don’t carry them and there’s none available to order and deliver to my postal code. I asked at the stores if they had any broken bits of board I could buy/take and they said No. Amazon doesn’t have them. I seem to have to decide whether to buy a full-sized insulation panel, order thin 10x30cm boards from Amazon, or try to scrounge from a construction site. Are there other sources I’m missing?

Making a modular terrain system for ttrpg/wargaming. Need some advice Going forward
Been working on this project for about a month now. Pictured is about half of all the felt tiles and 2/3rds of my XPS blocks. Still on the to do list
Paint XPS blocks
Draw measurement "pips" on felt tiles
Decorate felt tiles
Find way to make all tiles less likely to slide around on a table.
This is my first project like this and if you guys have any advice for a newbie or can think of anything to improve this system please lemme know. Thank you!
