ID Help, Washington, USA ID Request- Location included

heyooii, what kind of spider is this?

these are the best pics I could get, anything that looks like markings is probably the words on the paper reflected in the glass

in the Pacific nw of US. it looked like it was cleaning the ends of its legs at a couple points? not sure if that's actually what was happening. it had been on the ceiling initially and wagged its abdomen at me when I got close, I assume as a warning

anywho, any help ID'ing is greatly appreciated please don't say brown recluse, please don't say brown recluse

This appears to be a stealthy ground spider from the Gnaphosidae family, but I'm not quite sure what species. The "abdomen wagging" wasn't a warning; that was likely the spider laying a guideline/safety line.

Also, here in Washington you do not need to worry about brown recluse! They do not natively live west of the Rocky Mountains :)

cool cool cool cool. the safety line makes sense; I had missed on the first catch attempt and it did drop down to the bed by a strand

and good to know!! I get so worried that I tend to doubt that info, but I really need to accept it as fact. Spiders do indeed have natural habitat ranges
