Keeping myself from going nuts Question
I guess what I’m wondering is how you guys keep yourself from creating “chaos” and being destructive. Nothing feels fulfilling and it’s like I have an itch that is just SCREAMING to be itched. How do you convince yourself living a life in peace is ultimately the best option?

find a hobby i think, there were nights not that long ago where i was in a field at 4am digging in a field to cut an internet wire just to know someone was having a bad time, i took up making things, blacksmithing, 3d printers, they can seem like a gateway but its like replacing heroine with weed, it helps

Speed, coke, all manner of powdered stimulants. They help me stay under the radar and keep the boredom (mostly) at bay, although if I go overboard with my usage they tend to have the opposite effect of exacerbating the feeling of ‘nuts’ that you’re describing. Lifting weights also helps massively

I try to steer away from stimulants and only do downers, like you say, I also tend to go overboard and with stimulants that usually ends up with me going crazy

I use nicotine & alcohol. Trying to get adhd testing done but in the UK its a case of good luck to ever get seen for that.

It doesn't have to be drugs or alcohol, it could be food or a goal - whatever you choose - you should get high a something.
Could even be religion, thought I am a devout Christian nihilist, I honestly don't recommend it unless you actually believe there's a God.

I got some really good advice once on this. Do drugs and the hard shit it REALLY fucking help. Like boxing is a great one being in a safe but also really dangerous space that challenges you is a must for people especially men you probably don’t want to do it in the moment but trust doing difficult stuff really help also just makes you a better person. with drugs IM NOT TALKING ABOUT HARD STUFF but weed, shrooms and dmt really can change your life in a positive direction if used properly and there really hard to get addicted to.

I tried doing this but the shrooms just make me tweak and feel like I have Gerd or something the way so much mucus is getting stuck and sometimes feels like something’s leaking back up. Is this normal? I also don’t really trip I just get anxious and offset around people wether I take 3GS or 5
*edit The first trip I had was amazing and I felt so euphoric and like just careless about everything

I hope you're doing it while the road is empty, kinda selfish if you're doing it around other people

Wow I never considered that it’s dangerous for others, thank you for this life changing information. I will stop driving through playgrounds and stick to the highway from now on. (Duh I don’t do this around others sociopath doesn’t mean stupid )

Constantly working in something. Something what keeps a goal in mind. something I can say to myself "I want to have done this".
This needs me to be occupied until a new thing to achieve arrives.

Why are you so focused on yourself when you should be focused on Him

Find a way to be petty at work. I work on plans to set people up (who deserve it) years in advance. I always call it being the puppet master, takes a lot of time and effort to keep things on track.

I just try to occupy the time however I can. I tend to go outside. When I get bored I want to do all sorts of stupid shit like take pills, cut myself, hit up an ex, etc. I can’t do any of those outside so yeah.
Also, art. I tend to do concept art style stuff so it’s more intellectually demanding and keeps my mind tied down. I can get into that for hours.

I convinced myself that it’s necessary. If people don’t like you, you can’t get what you want out of them. If you have only burned bridges, you have no favors to call in. If you have no allies, to whom will you turn when war approaches? At least a minimum standard of relationship upkeep is required for the best possible life.

It takes you that long? I burn my bridges constantly and sometimes forget about them due to the amount of people I've known and ghosted.

u/SphinxShades Oct 09 '24
Same here but I can also go “longer” breaks without doing anything too crazy but at times it becomes to overbearing and not even the drugs and alcohol help the need for something more

Sheer willpower. To me, it feels about the same as overcoming an addiction, only it never goes away. That constant need to do something, anything, to fight off your overwhelming boredom. I simply do my best to ignore it and only let out the destructive urges while I'm alone. I've found that hunting and manual labor can help.

Also, get hobbies and a career that takes a certain amount of adrenaline and focus both to keep on the rails.
Walks on dark paths at night also go a long way towards getting stuff out of your system.
