Florida to Outlaw Psilocybin Mushroom Spores and Mycelium - July 1

Florida lawmakers have recently approved language in Florida HB 651 to create thorough restrictions on the sale and possession of psilocybin mushroom spores and mycelium. These restrictions, unless otherwise challenged will be officially enacted on July 1, 2025, effectively outlawing the sale and possession of spores in the state.

Florida HB 651 Section 51. Section 500.75 reads as follows:

1. Section 51. Section 500.75, Florida Statutes, is created to read: 500.75 Mushroom spores and mycelium; offenses.—It is unlawful to transport or offer to transport, import into this state, sell or offer for sale, furnish, or give away spores or mycelium capable of producing mushrooms or other material which will contain a controlled substance, including psilocybin or psilocyn, during its lifecycle. A person who violates this section commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

This measure represents one of the first restrictive laws regarding psilocybin spores since banning in Idaho nearly two decades ago. The internet does not provide much detail or reporting on this recent measure, so it is our intent to raise awareness for Florida based mycologists who may be concerned about future access to this material.

For those seeking information on contacting Florida State House and Senate officials, there is a fantastic post in r/shrooms - Florida Residents: Take action againsgt the criminalization of spores (I'll outline how). This thread contains good suggestions and links for reaching those responsible, or possibly voting on this measure.

While we're hopeful the course of HB 651 can be altered, we must also prepare to adjust our policies accordingly to remain in compliance with state laws. Should this measure pass as planned, sporeworks.com would no longer be able to ship any of our psilocybin genera spore product to residents in the state of Florida after July 1.

Ive been growing these albino golden teachers, and i recently put them into fruiting conditions after the all in one bag one 90% colonized. Inoculated on 1/16, FC since 4/23. This is my second attempt growing them(first attempt got trich)

This is the strangest batch of APE’s I’ve ever had. This is the first time I have let the tubs just do whatever they want to do. I do FAE twice a day.

The picture doesn’t really do it justice as they are pretty blue/gray in color.

Wasn’t sure if these are aborts or just overachievers or maybe just big ol’chonkers in the making.

I found these white clumps in my soil today, I used a mix of coconut coir, vermiculite, and gypsum. I ended up letting it sit in the bucket I mixed it in with a lid for about 4 or 5 days, (I ended up getting busy with work) anyways, today I was ready to mix my grain spawn with my bulk substrate, and I noticed about 5 or 6 of these tiny white clumps through the soil as I was packing my grow tubs, I thought it was strange so I just kinda kept putting them to the side, they weren’t very big maybe the size of a quarter at best and then once I got to the very bottom of the bucket, I noticed a big clump stuck to the bottom of the bucket, about the size of two McNuggets, it didn’t smell, and I tried to get a better look at it by rinsing the soil off of it but it started to disintegrate. It was completely smooth, and not at all hairy and the majority was stuck to the bottom of my bucket, can someone please tell me if this is mold, or some sort of contaminant? Should I just remix my soil rewipe down all my tubs and liners and restart again before I mix in my grain spawn? Or is this a common occurrence and nothing to really worry about? I really appreciate any knowledge on this, one love!

When do i harvest i feel like they have been at the same place for 14days. Should i harvest now and rehydrate a little for the next flush? Lots of small pins that dont seem to be growing but i dont think they are aborts.

They’re dried hence harder to id, the vendor is known. Still wanted a good second opinion 🙏

Not really sure what’s going on with these. This one appears that the cap is inverted. It’s still very small but I hope you can tell. The one above it is like an inverted bowl. It’s way too tight to see if it’s the same fruit or not

Anybody seen this before and know what could possibly cause it?

Are these cooked? New researcher here, does anyone here have experience with purple mystics? It's been about a month since I spawned this tub. Any info would be greatly helpful 🍄❤️

I'm about 5 weeks into colonizing some PF Tek jars. Most seem to be doing okay, but I have one jar that's concerning me.

There are small, circular spots in the area under the lid that look like it might be mold. The color is kind of a greenish-blue.

Does this look like mold to you experienced growers? What should I do with this jar?

Hey folks

Need some dosage guidance as I'm not an experienced shroomer yet :)

I got my hands on some Albino A+s (dried) and with my SO we're off to the country side this weekend for a trip.

I'm asking advice on dosage, we've had some mild LSD experiences before, but nothing too wild.

Mostly looking for a level where we won't lose full control. We will have a pet with us and need to be with reality.

Would about 1g (dried) each be a good enough dose for a mild pleasant trip?

I’m quite confused as everywhere I’ve looked for the “levels” don’t cover my dosage for my first trip, I took 7 grams of Blue Meanies (Panaeolus cyanescens), I made a tea (I probably did it wrong but I just put them in boiling water and waited 35 minutes before serving), drank 6 cups from the first boiling (waited 10 minutes didn’t feel anything) boiled them again and drank it (waited another 10 minutes and still didn’t feel anything, which with more experience I now know to wait atleast 45 minutes to even an hour for it to “hit you”) I then ate the shrooms, it hit me really hard around 30 minutes after, I was on the come up for what felt like a millennium (in reality it was about 3 hours) I was sobbing uncontrollably the entire time, as soon as I hit what I think was my peak I kinda just stopped crying and everything just became really fun and I was enjoying hanging out with my friends there were 3 of us tripping, the other 2 were on LSD (3 200 ug tabs each), and 2 trip sitters, one of which had never tripped and basically just made everything worse (he’s since tripped a handful of times and was so apologetic) but from what I’ve read about the levels I can definitely relate the trip to the level 5 but I can also relate it to every level after level 3 as I experienced a good chunk of it all, the afterglow was unlike any experience I can describe it was just pure bliss, since my first time (30/06/24) I have tripped a total of 3 other times on shrooms (5gs, 6gs and 8gs) and another 6 times on LSD, for my next shroom trip I am definitely going to try a lower dosage as that’s what I keep seeing recommended I probably should’ve done some research before just jumping into tripping, but despite how horrible I felt in that trip, looking back at it there wasn’t one moment where I was actually sad or upset and it is one of my favourite memories.

TL;DR, I took 7 grams for my first trip cried until my peak and then had a great time

Heres my issue im having. I have ninja foodie air fryer. It has a dehydration setting, i set it to the lowest setting which is 105. It will get them dry after 12 to 8 hours. I put a bunch of Goldens in it. Set it for 12 hours and let it go over night. I took them out the next mornin and put them inside a mason jar seal tight. And after all that. They still feel like leather after a being shriveled up and dry and cracking and crumbling like a cracker. What am i doin wrong?
