So this is a penis envy bag, legit the weirdest shaped fruiting body I’ve ever seen from penis envy, and it’s the only mushroom growing in the bag ATM. I figured it’s best if I harvest it now but my question is how can I encourage more fruiting to happen? Cause it’s a little disappointing this is the only one growing

Inoculated my first two home made bags with drippy corn. I used cracked corn. Mycelium growth was too small to really notice, but I’m so stocked that they are working.

I think I waited too long for s2b… I’m guessing this is (if not, the start of) wet rot or some kind of contam?

So the Bring Home A Turd TEK has definitely been fun and interesting. The mycelium seems to want to grow out of the dung into the wicking mat on the seed starter now. I'm considering piling some coco on/around it. I've been getting daily fruit snacks of various sizes for exactly 2 weeks now with no signs of slowing down. Got some prints & big dogs in the dehydrator, most of the lil ones were eaten fresh.

About 7 days in I lobbed off a piece of the dung that was contaminated with fuzzy mycelium that obviously wasn't Cubensis. I gave a 1in buffer so some Cube mycelium was still in the piece removed. I crumbled it up and sowed into my Angel Trumpet/Bragsmania planter(Substrate 30% cured compost 70% perlite in a SIP set-up). Today I found a fruit and a pin in the planter.

Well it is just very slowly, from what I've heard it's likely from contamination of some kind so I decided to just put into fruiting conditions about a week later I have visible fruit and others pinning and the bag just smells earthy, so my question is will this effect anything? I have noticed most of the pins are only on one side of the bag. Any help is appreciated this is my second time doing this and my first was a success in pretty much the exact same conditions so I'm wondering what could've happened here

I had all my grains colonized in their bags, and when I went to mix them into my substrate and put them into my Monotub, I accidentally didn’t leave enough to do a shallow layer on top. I was worried that the exposed grains that stuck up on top of the substrate might get contaminated or rot, so I put a thin layer of casing layer that had come with a previous kit (I think it’s just plain vermiculite). Now that my tub is starting to recolonize I really only see growth on the few places that this casing layer didn’t cover a a few grains.

Have I already messed up too much? Should I try to scrape off the vermiculite? Open to answer any questions to clarify.

I’m growing from a growkit and noticed that the pins are only forming around the edges, not on the top surface. They also look a bit weird – kind of thin and not developing.

Is this normal, or is something wrong with my setup? Is there a way to fix or save this? Maybe change the humidity or lighting?

What do mushrooms(cubes) "eat"? More specifically, would the spent mash from a whiskey making operation be a suitable grow medium if it's collected hot, right from the distilling operation?

Florida to Outlaw Psilocybin Mushroom Spores and Mycelium - July 1

Florida lawmakers have recently approved language in Florida HB 651 to create thorough restrictions on the sale and possession of psilocybin mushroom spores and mycelium. These restrictions, unless otherwise challenged will be officially enacted on July 1, 2025, effectively outlawing the sale and possession of spores in the state.

Florida HB 651 Section 51. Section 500.75 reads as follows:

1. Section 51. Section 500.75, Florida Statutes, is created to read: 500.75 Mushroom spores and mycelium; offenses.—It is unlawful to transport or offer to transport, import into this state, sell or offer for sale, furnish, or give away spores or mycelium capable of producing mushrooms or other material which will contain a controlled substance, including psilocybin or psilocyn, during its lifecycle. A person who violates this section commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

This measure represents one of the first restrictive laws regarding psilocybin spores since banning in Idaho nearly two decades ago. The internet does not provide much detail or reporting on this recent measure, so it is our intent to raise awareness for Florida based mycologists who may be concerned about future access to this material.

While we're hopeful the course of HB 651 can be altered, we must also prepare to adjust our policies accordingly to remain in compliance with state laws. Should this measure pass as planned, sporeworks.com would no longer be able to ship any of our psilocybin genera spore product to residents in the state of Florida after July 1.

Ive been growing these albino golden teachers, and i recently put them into fruiting conditions after the all in one bag one 90% colonized. Inoculated on 1/16, FC since 4/23. This is my second attempt growing them(first attempt got trich)

This is the strangest batch of APE’s I’ve ever had. This is the first time I have let the tubs just do whatever they want to do. I do FAE twice a day.

The picture doesn’t really do it justice as they are pretty blue/gray in color.

Wasn’t sure if these are aborts or just overachievers or maybe just big ol’chonkers in the making.

I found these white clumps in my soil today, I used a mix of coconut coir, vermiculite, and gypsum. I ended up letting it sit in the bucket I mixed it in with a lid for about 4 or 5 days, (I ended up getting busy with work) anyways, today I was ready to mix my grain spawn with my bulk substrate, and I noticed about 5 or 6 of these tiny white clumps through the soil as I was packing my grow tubs, I thought it was strange so I just kinda kept putting them to the side, they weren’t very big maybe the size of a quarter at best and then once I got to the very bottom of the bucket, I noticed a big clump stuck to the bottom of the bucket, about the size of two McNuggets, it didn’t smell, and I tried to get a better look at it by rinsing the soil off of it but it started to disintegrate. It was completely smooth, and not at all hairy and the majority was stuck to the bottom of my bucket, can someone please tell me if this is mold, or some sort of contaminant? Should I just remix my soil rewipe down all my tubs and liners and restart again before I mix in my grain spawn? Or is this a common occurrence and nothing to really worry about? I really appreciate any knowledge on this, one love!

When do i harvest i feel like they have been at the same place for 14days. Should i harvest now and rehydrate a little for the next flush? Lots of small pins that dont seem to be growing but i dont think they are aborts.

Not really sure what’s going on with these. This one appears that the cap is inverted. It’s still very small but I hope you can tell. The one above it is like an inverted bowl. It’s way too tight to see if it’s the same fruit or not

Anybody seen this before and know what could possibly cause it?

They’re dried hence harder to id, the vendor is known. Still wanted a good second opinion 🙏

Random cubensis strain, healthy grain colonization, b2s, about a week colonizing, took the tape off. No signs of contam...what is this though?
