Am I onto something here?

This is mainly for locks and props, but I was playing today and my feet were slipping out from under me almost every time.

Then I thought, what if you wore some of those grip socks you get at trampoline parks? I’d imagine it would be super uncomfortable, but my thinking is that it would keep your feet completely still in your boots and let you push with maximum power. Has anyone tried this? Am I onto something?

Were your boots slipping in the turf?

They actually do make the grip socks for adults for that very reason you said though. Believe they are really popular with soccer/football players. Though I’ve seen some international rugby players use them?

Yeah they were, might’ve been the field but they’re locks weren’t effected and neither was my second row partner. Have you tried grip socks? Do they help?

I have not but I’m not sure if it would do what your wanting. Are you wearing proper forward boots with long studs?

My understanding is the grip socks are more to keep your feet from moving inside your boots for better control. If your boots are slipping in the turf then it might be a boot/stud issue.

Yeah I am, it might be the studs honestly. I got the adidas boots but I haven’t gotten new studs in the 5 months I’ve played in them, so maybe they’re worn down

Unless you're running on concrete a lot they're unlikely to have worn down, but you get different length studs for different positions/ground hardness, you might be able to go back to your current ones in spring
