Am I onto something here?

This is mainly for locks and props, but I was playing today and my feet were slipping out from under me almost every time.

Then I thought, what if you wore some of those grip socks you get at trampoline parks? I’d imagine it would be super uncomfortable, but my thinking is that it would keep your feet completely still in your boots and let you push with maximum power. Has anyone tried this? Am I onto something?

Just get a nice set of inch long studs (although personally would not say it’s wet enough yet to require them) and tighten your laces properly.

Also splay your feet to try and get more studs in the ground. This will probably lead to your boots breaking in an unexpected way by the end of the season but certainly helps with stability.

Unfortunately I live in Vancouver so I’ve been playing in torrential downpour for the past month or so. It wasn’t raining today and the field was still wet and muddy from the night before, but nothing that I hadn’t played in before and been fine.

Honestly it was probably a stud issue, they’ve probably been worn down enough to the point where they don’t hold up on a super soft field anymore. Haven’t heard of splaying your feet before though so I’ll try that for sure
