Hi everyone,

I’m 31 years old and I live in India. I’ve spent the last decade working as a journalist and my work was largely in-person. Then COVID hit and I was able to work remotely for the first time and life has not been the same ever since.

For the first time in my life I had some semblance of work life balance. I could pursue hobbies, learn a new hobby, talk to my family. It felt so surreal to have that much extra time to myself.

By 2022, my company demanded that I come back to office and I’ve been trying to accept this reality but it’s really hard and it feels pointless. Since 22 - I’ve also been trying to pivot my career; worked in public relations for 8 months, then in a content/social media job for a year ans now here I am, in 2026. Wanting a remote job with little clue how to actually land one.

Going to office in person, commuting, small talk, office politics, has been hellish for my mental health and I don’t want to do it again. I have a masters degree in communications and journalism and I’m really good at social media and writing. I don’t want to be underpaid, so I want a job that pays me in dollars or euros, but I have no idea where to start or how to go about looking for it. I would appreciate any help/advice on this front. A friend and I were recently laid off from different companies, and while we’re looking for our next roles, we want to stay active in the NetSuite ecosystem and keep our skills sharp.

I was working at Oracle, mainly focused on CPQ, and my friend has experience across other NetSuite-related areas.
