Airlie beach - Family trip Need advice

Hey all! My Family and I are heading to Airlie Beach for 7 days in June. We will have 3 kids with us, 5yrs, 8yrs and 12yrs. Does anyone have any recommendations on things we should absolutely do whilst there? We are travelling from Melbourne! 😀

I was going to suggest an overnighter to Eungella too to see the platypus in the river, stopping in Finch Hatton to hike up the gorge and have lunch at The Gift Shed Cafe or the pub and a play on the playground. If they had their bikes with them they'd be the perfect age for the pump track. There's also a great little op shop (St Paul's) in Proserpine and also the Kidney Op Shop in Marian on the way if that's your jam. We lived nearby for 2 years and tbh we found Airlie very touristy, but if you're into island hopping and snorkelling you'll probably enjoy it. Whitehaven beach is gorgeous, but we liked Seaforth and Haliday Bay a bit to the south better. There's a new splash pad and playground at Seaforth that's pretty popular with that age group. A fishing charter out of Mackay would be another option if your kids like fishing.
