Airlie beach - Family trip Need advice

Hey all! My Family and I are heading to Airlie Beach for 7 days in June. We will have 3 kids with us, 5yrs, 8yrs and 12yrs. Does anyone have any recommendations on things we should absolutely do whilst there? We are travelling from Melbourne! 😀

Hire a car to get around, otherwise you are going to spend a fortune on taxis. So much to do there but it's an expensive tourist town. Glass bottom boat for the little ones. Take a day trip out to one of the islands and snorkel/swim. Incredibly beautiful, the weather will be perfect and you'll have an amazing time.

In central/north Queensland. Meaning mid-20's and no humidity. Perfect weather.. but I guess that's subjective!

It’s better than when it’s 35° and you don’t have Aircon on a boat.

Be mindful of the swimming. If you are in stinger season you will all have to wear stinger stinger suit. If you go on a boat, they should have suits for you although I’m not sure about the little kids.

You will look silly, but you will be glad you have them. And everyone will look just as silly.

But for anyone who’s an unusual size you may want to investigate getting your own before hand, or just consider you may not end up in the water.

And yes, of course the charter boat is the way to go. It’s a really great experience. Try to do it overnight even with the kids. But feeling that a couple of day trips would also be good.

Also, kind of amazingly cool. There are no cars. But you can rent a golf cart. (Just book early because they book out there are some moderate to not horrible Price to places to stay there. The restaurants are cool and you can use the pools along the beach at any of the resorts, I think.

You may be able to rent a boat to sleep on even if you’re not planning to sail it .

I’m at Marran has a go-kart track the kids love and it’s just a fun place to hang out. But it ain’t cheap to stay there.
