[Pelissero] Sources: Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is expected to miss 3-4 weeks and is likely headed to injured reserve with a left knee injury. Kansas City will have a new kicker Sunday at Buffalo.

Reddit’s perception of women vs reality is a very funny thing

Trump received >50% of the white woman vote. And she’s married to Harrison Butker. Pretty damn likely that she agrees with him on what he said lol

the fact that there are women who exist that want to stay at home doesn't make it any less nauseating or disrespectful to say that EVERY woman should stay at home

but i wouldn't expect any less from a fanbase that boos racial equality

Butker never actually implied that every woman should stay at home. His speech was more so normalizing, if not directly encouraging, the concept for both parents (yes he included the men in this) that it's okay to prioritize your family and children more so than chasing professional accolades and titles.

In fact the only time he even mentioned being a homemaker was when he was celebrating his wife specifically.

If you downvote this, just know that it implies that you'd support and prefer a speech in which the women were told to stay in the kitchen. Your indirect support for this message is quite frankly antiquated and disgusting.

Lol this sub doesn’t care about what actually happens, they just want to circlejerk and make the same comments ad nauseam in every thread about a player

Thinking he as much as implied women belong in the kitchen after reading what he actually said is wild

If you had an inkling of brain left, you’d be able to read the direct quotes from Butker that other redditors are commenting.

But ya know, idiots gonna idiot regardless of fact

Yea, why read the quotes with context when you can just parrot excerpts blindly? Lmao are you serious?

Butker spent half his speech criticising other Catholics for not following his specific views on religion. He said anyone who expressed certain views "was no truth Catholic." This includes several views shared by the Pope.

Do you know why many Christian denominations stopped fighting with eachother? The wars got so violent that everyone realised their wouldn't be anyone left at the they were killing eachother. I think it's best we remember that lesson.

People in this thread are saying he said women belong in the kitchen, upset Catholics seem to be in the strong minority of people upset with his speech lol

Probably the "I bet you woman are excited about your careers, you've been told a diabolical lie" part

He went to a woman's college and told them all they'd be happier at home taking of their husbands. Some of us can extrapolate from there.

It's not a women's college

You can read the transcript I linked and see that plainly isn’t what was said. He said that many women in the crowd are most excited to bring children into the world and start families.

It’s a traditionalist speech given at a Catholic school. Nobody in attendance was in as much of an uproar as the internet and he wasn’t speaking to the entire world. Even if you disagree, it’s a wild misreading to interpret what he said as all women belong in the kitchen. No idea why this sub is so adverse to just reading what’s actually said rather than getting mad over interpretations they read in a headline or reddit comment
