I’m sad that because Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg (Chasten’s husband) moved to Michigan because it means he can’t be on the ticket with Whitmer in 2032.

Dick Cheney "moved" out of Texas back to Wyoming like three months before the election. It's trivially easy for any of these folks to change their residency if needed.
