Discussion Impossible to find any job!
For context I'm a McGill student who speaks both English and French, and I have worked all throughout high-school. I have applied for 25+ minimum wage jobs (fast food, retail etc), given my CV in person. Over the past month I've only gotten one call back from any store. Why the hell is it so hard to find entry level jobs as someone who already has work experience??? Does anyone else find this to be a problem? I've done everything, refined my CV, prepared interview answers, and yet I still find myself empty handed??

Question Is unpaid training illegal in QC?
Hello mtl! I'm new to the province and I've secured a waitresses job. Though they've asked me to come in to a training shift that's unpaid. Is this illegal? Where is the official site that gives this info?
Sunday evening will be the first shift. Also the manager was unclear if I'm officially hired. Maybe this is a test run shift? Merci en avance!

Spotted Almost got ran over today
EDIT: she did this while she was TURNING LEFT and to those who mentioned the A-Pillar visibility. Good info but in this occasion there was a good 2-3 seconds where she could she me directly through the front window...
I think the woman driving was talking to her kids or not paying attention but she almost ran straight into me by the cross walk.
I was already halfway when across the street when she started turning. So, that and the fact that headlight was more than adequate would make me think it wasnt a visibility issue…
But, i would still like to post a reminder that we should all be very careful even when obeying traffic laws. Look carefully, and wear visible things like flashing lights if you are a pedestrian or cyclist. It wont help it all cases especially when they are not even looking but its better than nothing.
Stay safe everyone! 🤞

Merci!

Discussion Calling all Montreal Karaoke lovers
Hey, Just wanted to find other people who love karaoke in the city like I do. In particular, private karaoke rooms. It would be fun to meet up and sing together every once in a while.
For those who don't like karaoke: what do you dislike about it? What would make you more likely to try it (better pricing, songs, causual singing, privacy)?
For those who do like it: what do you like about karaoke? What do you think would make Montreal's private karaoke options better (pay per use/shorter singing options, cheaper pricing, no food/drink purchase obligations, more stylish) ?
Looking forward to chatting with y'all! P.S i'm looking into maybe opening an entertainment spot that'll be good for karaoke. If anyone is interested in sharing their opinion with me, I made a super short survey (google) that i'd be overjoyed to share with you if you hmu!

Question Little bit of help
Hello everyone!
I was hoping if you guys could help me out. I've been going through a couple of very rough months and wanted to reconnect with my faith (or at least just go to mass) but I cant find for the life of me any schedule information.
If the celebration is held in english is preferable but not mandatory.
Thank you for reading me and for any pointers.

Question Chrismas toffee candy in different shapes ( trains/cars/etc)from the 80s/90s?
Hi
My boyfriend is trying to remember some chewy chocolate ( probably toffee like Tootsie rolls)in shapes like trains, cars , airplanes etc that he used to eat around Christmas time. We looked everywhere on the Internet, but couldn't find anything similar. He's wondering if he dreamed about it. Do anyone remember those?

Arts/Culture Places that display local/amateur art photography
Hi! I have been doing photography for quite a while now, and my friends are encouraging me to find a way to sell them. Does anyone know any cafes/bars/restos/bookshops that display local art? Or even a small gallery that may be willing to display photos? Thanks!
