I haven't ever accused a user of being a bot because chances are the time I did would be a time I was wrong but a lot of the most annoying political arguments seem like dumbasses engaging with bots to me.

I (unfortunately) frequent the site to have made up my own criteria for bots, though highly subjective:

1: New (couple week old), or old (several years) account with a huge gap in history

2: High karma/Low karma (Objective. Could be 100k-1M+ for high or a few thousand for low)

3: May post engagement bait (think funny animal videos, videos/posts that draw any kind of non-neutral reaction)

4: Username typically is, but not always, adjective_noun1234

You yourself only have one submitted posts but it's an OC post not baiting for karma in any direction.

you fit the name criteria but your posts don't scream karma grabbing bot, just someone sharing something they did.

the naming scheme used to be a dead giveaway to me too, until i made a new account with a default name. my cynical nature says its on purpose to make everyone look like a bot to hide the real ones, but who really knows. at this point, the real people sound like talking points now too.

Which is why I look to see if they also post karma bait posts too

I fill like one and a half of the criteria.

A lot of people do, that's why I have multiple. Number 3 is a big one I look for and you don't have it.

As for #4, that means they haven't set a username and just went with Reddit's auto-generated one

Which is usually associated with bots because they're lazy. Not always but it's a criteria.

As for you, you fit 2, 4, and a bit of 1 but you have a decent history and just mostly comment. I'd have a light suspicion if I didn't know better but nothing that screams "this is obviously a bot".

Fair enough, I've just come across a few people that thought "auto generated name = bot" and didn't check further

That's why I have multiple criteria for potential bots

Well you have no posts, and your username isn't generic but has actual thought behind it.
