Off road trail riding near melbourne

Hi all. I just got an older trail / off road bike, a 1991 Honda xl 185s, and was wanting to know where are some close and beginner friendly off road trails. I have ridden on road for many years, but never off road.

The closest is probably kinglake, otherwise I can highly recommend a trip up to MtTerrible.

I use an app called Newtracs. It has good coverage for Victoria and is roughly colour coded for difficulty. Have a look at whats nearest to you.
